I wanted to try Salvia, just because of it's hallucinogenic effects. But, I won't try a drug without close friends to watch me

LOL @ EvilBunnyFluff - i like your sex/location ;-)

Anyways everyone knows all the good/bad points of cannabis, and its a never ending debate that usually goes 50/50, I'm sick of hearing it. Now what about the social uses for it? I use it to maintain my sleep schedule, but suddenly I meet more and more people who use it, and instantly I've ended up in a whole new world of networking professionals I never imagined would be like this from all ages, types, and professions. It goes into "don't knock it until you rock it!"

Bottom line I've become successful because of cannabis :-)

"don't knock it until you rock it!".. I like that! haha.. I feel that if people like it... then they will use it. It is pretty easy to tell if you like it or not once you have tried it. It's really no big deal. It's no different than when I have tried a cigarette and got a bit light headed.. It tasted nasty to me, and I didn't like the feeling or smell. The herbs are the exact same way. In my case I enjoyed it. I feel like it is more or less a choice thing. Most people who shhhmoke it don't really pay mind to the law about lighting up a J, or however you enjoy the greenage. In contrast to the original statement.. You know if you are too high to drive.. your ass ain't gonna go nowhere.. except the fridge or the couch. Just sayin..

What exactly do you mean by abuse.. If you don't like cannabis.. You don't use it.. 4 out of the 5 long-term affects are for people who should not be smoking the stuff. Which goes back to me saying if you don't like it, you won't use it.. therefore you can't abuse cannabis(IMO.). The only thing it might abuse is your wallet. Unless you farm or know someone who does

To be perfectly honest with you all, I use pot on a pretty much daily basis as a way to control chronic pain in my left leg, and as a way to help deal with depression. Believe me, it helps a lot. I can actually move around with a minimum of knee and hip pain, and it helps me sleep better.

Having said all that...

One thing i do NOT do is engage in activities such as driving. I know from personal experience that pot definitely slow down your reaction time and messes with your perception of the world around you. I used to drive high when I was younger, and I have barely avoided numerous accidents when I would zone out and everything would feel like I was watching tv or playing a video game. Those times scared the hell out of me, so if I get high, or am planning on getting high, I stay wherever I happen to be at the time until I am ok enough in my mind to drive.

To sum up, if you are going to do it, just know your limitations. Don't be stupid and risk your life and the lives of others. Chill out a while and enjoy the buzz.

Hemp could save the planet. Legalize Hemp at least! It is so strange that it is STILL illegal even though consumption does not cause a high.

I had smoke it a few times. I guess it's okay, but not for everybody... I have a friend, which is totally cool and all, but after smoking she gets really violent. It's weird, since it makes me feel more relaxed, but probably it depends on the person.

I agree, inbloom. Everything affects people differently. When I drink, I tend to get a little sloppy and silly. Others I know get VERY violent. It's kind of like what I heard Bill Cosby said many years ago about drugs. He was talking about asking someone he knew about cocaine.

Bill- What is is about cocaine that you like?
Friend- Because it intensifies your personality.
Bill- Ok. But what if you're already an a$$hole?

I like my hemp but funny how in Perth (Australia) the legislation for it constantly changes. Recently, they changed it from making synthesised hemp legal to making it illegal in couple of months and banning of paraphernalia. Now, those hemp shops I go to still sells them but only as a novelty. If you were to get caught, it's your problem.

just remember kiddies - Cannabis has dramatically changed within the last 10-15 years. You no longer have to smoke it if you're concerned about lung damage. You can safely get the same medicinal effects using cannabis lotions, tea, oils, food, and even beverages.

Best of all you can choose your flavor, harsh or smooth, high or low effect, and duration. This goes above and beyond your typical rolled up joint.

Enjoy responsibly and never do it because of peer pressure or because celebs are doing it. Use it if it makes you happy and F*** the rest, just like anime its one thing some will judge because people will say its for "kids" or the story lines are too complicated - again, don't knock it until you rock it!

I think it should be legalized...

I mean...Beer is legal, right?

Now STFU society, you're all hypocrites.

Oh, and I've smoked weed many times during high school...and nothing really changed, I'm no crack addict if you think that's what it leads too.

I put the High in High school

To be honest... Alcohol seriously does have a worse effect on mankind.
Most people I know that smoke are very calm and polite. I have met many people drunk that are violent and ca't control themselves.

Alcohol is also scientifically proven to degrade organ regeneration at a high rate.

Weed is far better then alcohol in many ways.

True both are bad... but laws preventing people from driving etc is a good direction.
As long as people under anything can be prevented from driving etc the nI have no issue.

There is medication which has worse long term effect on the human body then weed....
Way to many sheep these days
Keep in mind that I have never tried or wanted to try weed.

Sadly, that's the reality of politics. Which ever way the political winds are blowing, politicians bend over backwards to pander to those who will be electing them. Just look at the political climate here in the U.S. in this election year. ALWAYS brings out the worst in people.

I agree with you on every way possible. I always argued that if weed replaced alcohol, the world would be a much safer place. With that said, weed is dangerous in its own right because since it is such a mellow drug, people just high all the time. And being on ANY substance for extended periods of time alters dopamine and ceratonin levels in the brain which leads to aggressive and violent behavior when they are not intoxicated. In the end when all is said and done, alcohol or cannabis, can lead to negative situations if not handled with the utmost care and self-discipline. If you want to enjoy, do so, but do it responsibly. And that can include anything, including things like food, video games, anime, blah blah blah.
