Gintama fans already know how good the show is but since it's episodic what's your favorites?
Also, what's your favorite arc? FOR EX: from Season 1 my favorites would be EP - 16 EP - 18 EP - 25 EP- 28 EP - 34 & 35 EP - 37 EP - 38 EP - 39 EP - 40 - 42 EP - 44 EP - 47 EP - 48 I'm too lazy to do the other seasons and I'm depending on the CR community to help. If you want to list why you like it that's cool too but I really don't care. Gintoki sensei is waiting for your responses. My favorite arc is the Tsukuyo arc. I don't even know it's technical name I just call it that since it's full of tsukuyo goodness. |

Can I just skip that first 50 episode and get straight to the good part? It wouldn't be wise to. Some important stuff does happen between 10 - 20. Early Gintama episodes are good too. Its just as the anime goes on the more amazing it gets. Hence why users post the best episodes 50 and onwards. |

starry wrote: Hohoho, I was trolling both of you. Anyway, I noticed that the best episodes that users posted were all episode 50 and onwards. Can I just skip that first 50 episode and get straight to the good part? First of all, almost everything in Gintama is a pleasure to watch, but even if it's not, those 50 episodes are spent getting to know the characters and their personalities in a more relaxed manner. The beauty of a long-running show is that you can have a ton of characters that are all properly developed, to the point where you can know and understand who they are. Especially in Gintama, where the characters spend most of the time screwing around. When they actually get serious, and you see a new subtlety in the way they act or feel, it can be all the more enticing. So yeah, you could probably skip a bunch of the show and still understand "the story," but you'll be a little less attached to the characters, which makes some of the events carry a little less impact. Regardless, Gintama is awesome without a main story anyway, so who cares? Pointlessness is a big part of the show. Further, it pulls off pointlessness better than anything I've seen. I think the PV that crunchyroll had for this season is perfect evidence of that. As for the question at hand, there were a lot of good times with this show, so it's hard to pick. I remember that before episode 25 (the Death Note parody) I enjoyed it, but was still kind of just killing boredom. After that episode though, I just remember thinking "alright, I'm sold, that was incredible." So that is the episode that stands out to me, although there were some really great things to happen afterward. |

Episodes 58-61 Benizakura arc (action Epicness)
Episodes 69-71 Tama Introduction arc (Action Epicness) One of my favorite arcs Episode 74 Unibrow (Comedic Epicness) Episodes 77-81 Kyubei Introduction arc (Action Epicness) Episodes 139-146 Yoshiwara arc (Action Epicness) Episodes 167-170 Tama RPG (Comedic Epicness) another favorite arc of mine Episodes 177-181 Back to Yoshiwara (Action Epicness) Episodes 182-184 Popularity Polls (Comedic Epicness) Episodes 195-199 About the Weather (Comedic Epicness) Episodes 202-203 Wartio (Comedic Epicness) Episodes 210-214 Battle over Kabuki District (Action Epicness) Episode 227 (Sket Dance Crossover) (Comedic Epicness) Episodes 228-229 Virtual Girlfriend (Comedic Epicness) Episodes 232-236 Renho invasion arc (Comedic Epicness) Episodes 239-240 Gintoki gets laid (or not) (Comedic Epicness) And you have to get past the first half of the first season for it get good, since each character needs their introduction episode I'd say as a general rule 9.5/10 stand alone (non-arc) episodes are primarily Comedy focused, while 7.5/10 Story Arc episodes are Action focused though the first half of the first episode will be mostly comedic.
