I have to say I'm a little disappointed at the small amount of series that CR has picked up for Q4 2012, especially compared to Q3 2012. But if the Fall Season is indeed smaller than other quarters of the year than its fine. And if CR is getting a lot more competition from other U.S. distrubters then we just have to deal with it. CR is big in terms of anime streams but it does have competition from Anime News Network from that department, as well as the companies that actually make the DVDs and blu-rays of these series like Viz etc.

I'm not as hard core an anime fan as many other subscribers on this site. I don't really follow what is going on in Japan and the business of companies getting licensing rights etc in terms of the anime season and just watch nearly everything that CR is able to stream to get my money's worth for my paid subscription.

In terms of the second season of Medaka Box, I was disappointed with the first season because it seemed too similar to Sket Dance (which in a likely minority opinion, I did NOT enjoy and stopped watching after the first episode) in terms of being relatively plotless until the last few episodes. If the second season is going to be a more action and plot orientated then it will improve substantially in my eyes. I can't wait to see it next week.

From what I've read from comments of those that read the manga, the manga goes pure shounen from here on out. Which is much very welcomed seeing as how the beginning of the series was like Sket Dance (which I also ended after the first episode) and was only really tolerable because of the epicness that I was being guaranteed with my patience (which was delivered).

I can see maybe why they wont get kamisama, because Viz licensed the manga so I'm sure there are issues there but the one I really want is Sukitte ii na yo which airs the 6th so maybe there is some hope that they will get it. If CR doesn't I dont think I have a reason to keep my premium membership for the fall lineup.

I see what you're saying about kamisama and Viz, that makes sense. And like you I am holding out hope for Sukitte ii na yo, there's definitely still time for that one.

In what sense? As they said in the announcement, lots of series are still being negotiated.

Don't assume that the boxes already up are all the ones there are. Over the last year, there's always been extra boxes added after this point in the announcement season.

I'm not really assuming, I'm just setting my expectations low for Kamisama since ep 1 has already aired. I still have hope for Sukitte ii na yo since it doesn't air until the 6th

Thank you for directly announcing the arrival of Dog Days season 1. Dog Days has been sitting in my queue with nowhere to go, I am pleased now. No hard feelings on the delay.

Yeah, but whether its aired mostly guessing about contracts they have already finalized. Based on the boxes, we only knew about one finalized contract waiting to be announced for days ~ though just recently, two more boxes have been added.

For negotiations in process, remember that Giant Killing started streaming nearly two months after it premiered in Japan. Every season there's one or more series that start late because the licensor hadn't awarded the license to Crunchyroll in time for the regular simulcast time slot.

Sure, maybe Funimation or Viz picked it up, or maybe there are different home video distributors negotiating for it ... but at the same time, maybe Crunchyroll is negotiating for it. Indeed, since the ANN encyclopedia lists it as a TV Tokyo production as well as a TV Tokyo broadcast, there could be a delay because TV Tokyo is working to try to get better region rights for Crunchyroll, or because there was a home video distributor bid and TV Tokyo is pushing for Crunchyroll to get non-exclusive streaming rights.

There's no real need for urgency on the side of the licensor to get overcast simulcast streaming started before the broadcast premiere. The two new boxes did not show up because the licensors got nervous about missing the regular simulcast time for the first simulcast, so if they showed up it must be because Crunchyroll keeps pushing to get the contracts finalized.

Hooray, Dog Days Season 1. When I started watching episode 1 of season 2, i didn't know it was season 2, so I was confused by the recap. Now I can watch from the start.
