So you are counting additional seasons/series of any show that ever aired before as "not new". Please point out a single one in the "New Simulcast Section" that is continuing from the summer season. At this point, you start looking like someone just fishing for something to complain about.

What shows do you think people are "talking about the most this season", and how many of those have yet to premiere?

You may not be happy that Crunchyroll wasn't the one to get the simulcast, but the only notable one I see that have premiered thus far that haven't had a simulcast announced are Kami-sama Hajimemashita.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure premieres in a little over 2 hours, but I had my doubts about the it being simulcast before the season started.

I do believe he's talking about series that indeed have previous season already licensed on crunchyroll. They were essentially shoo-ins for acquisitions as crunchyroll would like to continue any series it already has shown a part of.

As for big shows coming up. Psycho Pass, Little Busters!, Code: Breaker, and Robotic:Notes.

Also a big show that came out that they didn't get was Chunnibyou.

But I will say that they did get SOME popular titles. BTOOOM! and Magi.

(Note: Popular =/= Good as a reminder to some)

Aww no little busters. Sucks

We still have almost 5.5 hours at this point before it airs in Japan.

Personally, I still think there is a good chance Funimation got this one, but theskyflame disagrees with me, stating the previous Key titles sold poorly for Funimation.

Also, keep in mind that just because CR doesn't announce a title before it airs, it doesn't mean they aren't going to get it at all. There are plenty of examples of simulcasts that either started late, or even turned out to be "latecasts" (i.e., the licensor didn't allow them to stream until after one of the later stations or even the last station aired it. FYI, the last station to air Little Busters does so 6 days after the first).

Considering between ADV & Sentai they've picked up all the Key titles made (save for Toei's Kanon TV & Special), I expect this will probably land in Sentai's lap one of these days.
Though as of AWA, David didn't know if anyone had picked it up, so they probably don't have it yet.

With the first episode showing in Japan in just over an hour it is not looking likely...

CR might do it like Tonari and announce an hour or so before the premiere

Either someone is really, really holding out until the last second for a better deal or... it ain't gonna happen which is my call at this point. If anyone got it, most likely Funimation picked it up and is holding off announcing it until NYC in a few days. And the saddest thing ever is that the user registration page on funimation.com is currently throwing a 404 error, really inspires confidence and makes you want to pay them money... not!

And contrary to reports it does NOT seem to want to put it in "their own player" if you are from Canada...

I was over at the Funimation forums earlier tonight, and the official word is that only some viewers in Canada are affected by this problem. For others, it works as it is supposed to. So it is YAFWB (Yet another Funimation website bug).

While its obviously a notch down in probability, its going overboard to jump to conclusions based on "missing the premier broadcast". Sometimes it will mean that someone else get the license, or its going unlicensed, and sometimes it won't.

IOW:

I hope and wish that I am wrong, I really do!

If it is going to be a week late then it really misses the boat. Having fansubs available a week earlier can be too darned tempting. All the stuff we're wishing for is already available, subbed, which sucks as I want to support it and watch it legally. I really do. By playing around and not simulcasting they are not helping themselves.

Ah well, I am getting more reading done than I would be otherwise BECAUSE I AM NOT watching fansubs. Back to my expensive, shipped from Japan manga... Made available the same day for everyone in the world like it should be! It is only late because it is flown halfway around the world to my house. I like paying for this stuff, it burns me that I have to buy DVDs to legally watch some of the anime.

Is it noon yet? It's Sapporo time...

If there's a delay in negotiations waiting for someone in Japan to decide on some point, it might not even be delayed from the premier broadcast, once things get on track.

If its simulcast off some other station, its not automatically a week later: some series literally have a broadcast somewhere in some different region in Japan for five nights in a row. So sometimes that's a day later, or three days later.

Indeed, sometimes the serious fansubbing drops out when the stream is announced, even if its a week later and the only bootlegs available are subtitle rips from the legit distributor, or some horrible quicksub.

We look for patterns in these things, to try to make our best guesses about what it going to happen ...
... but sometimes its just some arbitrary decision made by some production committee member in Japan, or a hold up because somebody who's got to look at things is currently in the middle of a business trip, and its not really something that's going on any specific pattern.
