Ok, as a guy who is paying for a membership on CR... I find it kind of ridiculous I have to scan every article before I post... I have posted a few forum posts and been reported because it was a duplicate... I am sorry i don't read a ton of older forums especially day old forums that have no action on the forum front page... but I am not hunting responses... generally I am just seeking opinions... so I mean either we all got to quit hating on anybody who post the same thing as us (It isn't a fucking popularity contest/Or high School) If we are getting the answers we seek .. why not have more than one post...? Anyway it is the internet.. more than one person is going to post the same question and maybe he words it better than the first person.... or makes more since.. each post is unique.. and I think the lock out post need to stop especially towards newer members.. Moderators should contact them and let them know about what they are doing .. but as I said... Not everyone has time to read every article about everything.... WE have jobs... But I digress...

Any Opinions... and please don't respond like an ass.

Lets all clap for the constructive and original post.

Hmmm, I think you should make a conscious effort not to post a topic if there is already an identical, up-to-date one. But if the most relevant topic is like...2 years old, why not make your own?

Its unnecessary to dive into old posts and the search doesn't work that well. I would say if its not in the first couple pages to make a new one, but there are a lot of people that make a huge fuss needlessly. Sure if its on the front page and 2 topics of the same nature come up, but old posts? Thats just rediculous.

I'm afraid the search doesn't do its job well.

Why would you want to have numerous threads about the same topic, that's just dumb. Of course there's a search engine that makes it easier for you too search if there's already a topic you want to start. If it happens to be really old, I'm pretty sure you can ask a mod to lock the old one so you can make a new one. Mods are nice bumblebees.~

P.S work a little bit on your grammar.

*shrug* Why keep old/dead threads around in the first place?

They're still threads, some people just want to see opinions of other people to a topic just because it's old it doesn't mean that it doesn't count.

Perhaps these people should learn the difference between rudeness and trolling.

This is his locked thread:
http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-777613/sword-art-online-episode-13-spoilers-and-talk

If you type "Sword Art Online" in the Anime section, you get a number of places to discuss what you've watched:
http://www.crunchyroll.com/search?q=sword+art+online&o=f&t=fc&n=3

Use your logic a bit, and type "Sword Art Online discussion", and you'll have reduced your total results to 3. Two of the three were locked for the same reason as yours and contain links to the original thread.

It sounds like a lot of effort, but that didn't take me more than 20 seconds.

I don't really see it as a big deal myself but people do seem to get upset about it. I think there is a lot they could do to improve the forums. for example the newer replies should be at the front, then people would see the recent answers more and not quote something years old.
