Good anime!

I don't know what they didn't include from the VN because of time constraints, but nonetheless, it was awesome.

On reason I think I enjoyed it more is because I didn't expect it to be as awesome as Steins;Gate. Of course, comparing the two is almost impossible NOT to do, but just think about it. Personally, Steins;Gate is my favorite anime. If I expected R;N, or any other anime I watch, to be just as good, I'll always be disappointed... or so I think.

All in all, R;N was fun. It had fun characters, a bucket load of cliffhangers, and good music. It was a great ride!

I really liked this series, not quite on Steins;Gate level, but still very good. Which is kind of one of the things that disappointed me with the series, that there wasn't more connections to S;G. Besides having a character from S;G, there was also connections to Daru, known then as DaSH, who was a friend of Frau, & though he had no speaking roll in the game, provided 2 major things that helped the characters of R;N. Also, the characters from S;G & C;H were part of a resistance group that opposed the Committee of 300. I suppose they couldn't cram that all in, but I think there could have still been a nod to Daru.

6/10. I might re-watch the finale to rate it again (thinking of a 5/10 now). It was a boring ride and I expected a lot more from this. Disappointing. Well, I guess Frau made me watch more and more of it but overall, a disappointing series that I didn't really enjoy imo.

Regarding the finale, so of course the power of love and sisterly bonds/friends along with memories is what prevailed in the end along with some impact. Oh well, I predicted this. Anyways, glad I finished this is over.

I started watching the show late, and just finished watching the final episode today. I too found large chunks of it boring, including the finale. Frau was the very best thing, and while I would have been perfectly happy with no pat "romantic moment" at all, if there had to be one (as apparently someone thought there must be), well I would've rather it be with Frau (between anyone and Frau).

Great action in the finale, but the ending was extremely contrived. While it pales in comparison to Steins;Gate, I still enjoyed this show, and I'll continue to watch 5pb adaptations. At best, I can only say this is good (7/10).

I fairly recently watchined Steins;Gate and was also hoping this would have a similar impact. There was a part where I thought it was getting there (Steins;Gate took me 8 episodes before I really started seeing its quality so I was patient with Robotics;Notes), but then things shifted and instead of the change getting me more interested, I started getting less interested. It really does pale in comparison.

I liked the series ....it's just that I thought the ending could have been better for this show. The final episode, imo, was 5/10. Maybe I expect too much since I saw psycho-pass last night... But I think the ending was a let down and gave no closure to what the supporting cast ended up doing.

Definitely a letdown,

Well... the story had some potential, but there was never anything close tense or suspense.
Some of the line of action does not connect well, other things don't make sense. Sadly, but this show was nowhere close to Chaos;Head or Steins;Gate

I've not seen Chaos;Head but was planning to, though after being disappointed in Robotics;Notes was wondering if I should bother. Sounds like I should.

Funimation still has all three series up so go watch! With dubs of the C;H and S;G if you are so inclined and want to purchase an Elite membership to see all of them (first few are usually free, gateway drug LOL).

I really need to finish this series. I did enjoy it but I got fed up with Funi's website. Psycho pass also. I didn't watch anything from either show after the Christmas break.

As this is the most recent topic I can find about this franchise, I feel safe posing a question here: Obviously, there are several series in this "Semicolon" bunch, but which one do I watch first if I am interested in giving it a shot? Is there any real order I need to follow?

The episodes are on Hulu, you know... for free

I know. (Hulu Plus subscriber here.) It's one reason I asked, since there's really no part of the series I can't access.

I don't think there's any real order you should watch them in as I don't think they are all that closely connected. Usually I prefer to watch related shows in the order they were aired even if the events in them aren't in that order, but with this group it's the same either way.

Chaos;Head
Steins;Gate
Robotics;Notes

That said, when I watched Stein's;Gate I wasn't aware it was part of a "set" and it's what I watched first. Then I watched Robotics;Notes. I haven't yet watched Chaos;Head, but I plan to eventually.

They aren't really closely connected but there are connections, mainly in R;N though.

They don't really go into this in the Anime but in the game version of R;N , Kai often reads tweets by Takumi (MC of C;H) and Kurisu and Daru from S;G.

To enjoy the anime to it's fullest though I would recommend watching Stein's;Gate first then Robotics;Notes, you can ignore Chaos;Head completely if you want to, it is probably the worst of the series and it has very little to do with the other ones. That said it is still not bad, it is just not as interesting, to summarize the plot without giving any spoilers it is about a delusional paranoid otaku trying to avoid human contacts to no avail.

Nae is in both Stein's;Gate and in Robotics;Notes, so I recommend S;G first just to know who she exactly is, even if it doesn't really come into play, and besides Stein's;Gate is a masterpiece, there is no reason why anyone should not watch it.

Thank you, folks. It looks like watching them in order of release makes the most sense, so that is exactly what I am going to do.

They are alternate settings, in order words it won't change anything if you watch one or all.
