Episode 2 Fried Chicken Flavored... So, romantic or revolting?
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Fried Chicken Flavored French Kiss LOL! And as for comparing this to My Little Monster / Tonari no Kaibutsukun, KC Dessert certainly isn't keeping them apart! These are from an insert in tankobon 10 of Tonari no Kaibutsukun: 2 big hit animes October on: Dessert Summer Festival, thanks for 15 years: |

Because that's not how the Japanese typically say "I love you". They tend to say "suki".

Which translates to "I like," so is this the difference between "puppy love" and romantic love? It literally translates as "I like", but... the Japanese are the kings of indirection. They don't say things outright. For instance, instead of saying no to a request, they'll say "It's a little..." (chotto), which effectively means "no". As you learn more about Japanese, you run into this all the time. Edit: Here's one article that covers the many ways of talking about love in Japanese: http://japanese.about.com/library/weekly/aa021101a.htm You can find more quite easily. |
