Season 1 just ended, and I have to say I truly wish it could have been longer. Only 14 episodes for one arc? I feel like there could have been way more potential in the story and they should have at least kept it going for 20 - 25 episodes.. Why only 14? Sigh. Now I just saw the preview trailer for season 2 and it's titled "Alfheim Online".. I really don't know how I feel about it. It doesn't look anything like Sword Art. The setting and the characters are all different and it just looks completely random and silly. Fairys? Really? I don't know if I should bother watching it any further. The first arc was the best and most promising. Now I have to watch Kirito fight fairies or whatever it is.. Just what the hell? Are they trying to turn the series into a children's joke? This is very disturbing for me to even witness.. This always happens with most major Anime. The initial arcs are the best. The stories are original and sustain your interests, but then the following arcs begin to suck and lose the entire premise and I feel like that's what is going to happen right now with this Anime. Maybe I'm wrong but I just don't like the direction it's taking.

He realizes this show is based on the novels right?

I haven't read the light novels yet, but it seems like the second arc is a new game with a new race. If it's a new game, then it makes sense for it to not look like Aincrad. There's got to be a really important reason for Kirito and Asuna to go back into a game though, so I'm interested in seeing what it is.
I don't think I'll mind the new look too much. I've played MMO's, so it's not so strange to me that they take on a new race. I hope there'll be more magic in this season to fit with the new look of the game. |

Watching Fairy Tail :)

It does look odd. I haven't read the novels so I'm not familiar with the story line. I'll give it a try before I pass.

Gotta have to disagree, I'm kind of glad they didn't drag out the first arc in anyway by adding any unneeded fluff plot wise
They built it up enough with 14 eps for the first arc to make a good foundation and setup And yeah, this is based on the light novels, check them out |
