Worst cold/flu symptoms
Posted 10/7/12
I'm lying here wide awake in bed watching infommercials about 5-in-one super blenders because my sinuses are so ridiculously congested. TT~TT It doesnt happen often, but when it does I can NEVER sleep no matter what medicines I take.

So I thought I'd ask the Crunchyroll Community which cold symptoms they hate above all others. Aches, chills, sore throat, etc. Feel free to list any remedies that have worked for you, too. Maybe some sickly Crunchyroller will be helped by this thread one day *sniffle*

I guess the most annoying symptom for me is a runny nose. It's just gross to have it drip out from time to time, wiping so often that you have all this nasty tissue around you and your nose is chapped red, just very unflattering.

I don't mind a sore throat, I kind of like the effect it has on my voice. Makes it sound very gravelly deep and soulful, like I'm a 1950's black blues singer who has gone through life smoking 2 packs of cigs a day and a bottle of bourbon.

For sinus congestion I'd recommend tea (ginger+lemon+honey), Vick's Vapor Rub, and maybe a neti pot (used to wash out your nasal passages and irrigate them).

Thank you, I think I'll give the tea a try tomorrow; I've had something like it for a sore throat but without the ginger. I'm guessing thats the decongestant.

I just like hot tea because the warmth and the vapors help loosen up phlegm in your throat and helps clear your nasal passages. The lemon (or orange if you like that better) just gives you a vitamin C boost, and honey and ginger both have anti-microbial properties. If you want something to focus on only clearing your nasal passages you might want to try Vick's Vapor Rub (rub it under your nose and on your chest, you breath it and it helps clear your nose) or a neti pot.

Hope you get better soon though. ;)

A cold is going through my friends and family, I haven't caught anything yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I been using this guy, and it has been giving me relief:

I also been taking Sudafed , but you need to get it from the pharmacy and they ask for your driver's license. Also, it will keep you awake:

For the cough and what comes with it, when you take a hot shower, suck in the water vapor.

For the throat, salt water gargles, or a mix of honey and lemon juice.

Sinuses... It's very temporary, but I find pinching the bridge of my nose rather helpful with the pain.

The worst is the sinus congestion. It gives me some really grand headaches and I am irritable when I am in constant pain.

I just take hot baths for everything. And nothing. I like baths.
