Hey,so recently i bought a membership with CR expecting something entirely different. I don't want to bitch just to ask a few questions.

Why do you guys have a limited amount of anime choices?(you have very little to choose from compared to free sites)

Why no Fullscreen auto change to next episode?(its seriously a pain in the ass getting off my fatass to click the full screen button)

Why are half your Anime series not in HD?(I don't find watching stuff in 480p enjoyable)

Am i missing a feature or service of this site? because i can't really find anything worth my money i came here looking for convenience and high quality anime with a variety of series if not most popular anime series.

I understand not reading the T&C since that's a hassle, but not checking the product before buying is pure dumbness. Didn't it offer you a free trial first?

I'll try answering these questions anyway:

1. If you are comparing Crunchyroll to other legitimate sites, Crunchyroll gets more simulcasts than any other legitimate site in North America. Since Crunchyroll is a legal venue to see anime though, Crunchyroll isn't able to get everything. I hope you are not comparing CR to one of those shady illegal fansub streaming sites.

3. Almost everything from the past year or so goes up to 1080p. If it's an older title that Crunchyroll got as a catalog title, then yeah, 480p is the most you'll get because that's what it was filmed in.

I'm a premium member, and I love this site because I can legally watch anime, support the anime creators in Japan and I don't see any ads! (I hate ads in my stream, which is why even though I can afford to also subscribe to Hulu, I haven't done so).

1. Crunchyroll is a legal streaming site. A legal site is one which obtains permission from the rights holder and pays money to that rights holder in return. The 'free sites' that you mentioned above are illegal streaming sites where the videos are actually served by another site known for serving user uploaded videos. Please note that piracy is not helping the industry.

2. It's something we're working on adding. You might find this helpful if you're using chrome:

3. Are you viewing on a device or via a web browser? Currently CR does not support higher than 480p except via Flash streams. Good news is that the admins mentioned that HD video for our apps will start showing up within the month.

Where are you located? CR has to obtain licenses for different parts of the world. Depending on where you are located, the list of anime to watch on CR can be very long or very short.

North American viewers have the best list as all anime on CR is made available for NA viewers. Compared to other legal sites, CR has the largest selection of anime, especially when it comes to simulcasts (CR's bread and butter).

Compared to illegal sites, CR has a small collection because those sites do not have to pay licensing fees to the anime producers and can put up anything they can get their hands on.

This is a limitation of Flash that reuires site designers to come up with their own work arounds. You will notice that websites that continue in full screen from episode to episode are doing so becuase they do not reload the webpage. As soon as you exit fullscreen, you will notice that the webpage reloads to the current episode.

CR is currently working on their own implementation to get around the Flash player's limitation.

As mentioned before, if the shows are older that is because the shows were not made available to CR in HD from whoever they purchased the license from, or the shows were never released in HD to begin with. However, 99% of the simulcasts on CR are released as HD, and 99% of those are 1080p. Every now and then, one show for one season may not be available in HD. CR gets their streams directly from the anime studios. (They do not record or "cap" tv stations in japan like fansubbers do; CR actually receives the video and the scripts directly from the anime studios before the show even airs on TV in Japan, sometimes days before, so that they have time to translate and add the subtitles) If the anime studios don't provide CR with a HD version, then CR won't stream a HD version.

Looking at the current season of simulcasts, only one show is not available in HD. The rest are all available in HD up to 1080p.
