Gave it a try. I personally find Flight Witches and Upotte unwatchable, but this is actually bearable, even enjoyable. A lot of the enjoyment actually comes from the music and the sounds the series makes. I love hearing the bugle filled World War 2 marching tunes and the sound of the clatter of tank tracks.

I couldnt watch Upotte or Strike Witches either, this one though is far more entertaining, probably because the fanservice is toned down, and when it is present it feels rather organic. Not there just because they needed fanservice. The third episode was pretty fun to watch, the one problem I had with it was Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide How during the battle exercise, they were stuck on a suspension bridge and no one thought about taking out the bridge, even firing from the bridge would not have been a good idea. They were in the most dangerous and exposed position ever and still managed to win. That seemed rather silly. It was a good episode though, you can tell the difference in experience with how calmed and focused Miho was throughout the entire thing. |

Episode three... Well, it was fun and watchable. Silly but fun.
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Tank A took a hit in side armor but kept working. They shot three other tanks in front armor from a bridge but took them all out... The line "Ita mita uta" "I came I saw I shot" was very funny though. Then the bath scene with no fanservice, wow... Waking up Mako and the neighborhood with a bugle and then a blank round from the Mk IV was very funny. Pink, red and gold tanks, umm... They alluded to people living on land. Seeing the tanks lined up with cars to get off was funny. Ankou dance, you can't get married after, that won't happen obviously, captain Miho and the girls are going to win next week's tank match I'm sure. |

Episode 4 is terrific! Still overflowing with "inacuracies" but... who cares! It's cute!
I dropped Upotte because the girls were so... dull! Boring even. Too many stereotypes and not enough else to make it enjoyable.
Strike Witches, otoh, the girls are adorable! They are all individuals (with some stereotyping, it's impossible to avoid entirely) and watching them interact, deal with life and fight in those rediculous gizmos is... fun!
With G&P I think there's a wondeful blending of characters, situation and flat-out funny!
And cuteness, have I mentioned how uber-cute it is? In that good way, of course.

Seems like another generic moe anime with girls wearing extremly short skirts. Dropped it after the first episode. Not like there's anything wrong with moe but it doesn't seem interesting enough. The whole tank idea turns me away a bit.

It's called Girls Und Panzer so the tanks shouldn't be surprising.
It is fairly generic but I like it. Hard even to say why but it is fun and I'm actually disappointed in the production delay on episode six but the extra 5.5 could be interesting...

You know, I'm surprised that this is a far more serious show that I expected it to be.
The Sherman battle was exciting and entertaining. Whatever the production problem was, ep 6 didn't disappoint. And now we know why Oorai restarted their Tank program:

Quite happy I am watching this series great tank battles friendships ans some intrigue withe schools future and the sister dispute.Great animation quality too.
