Well from what everyone else has speculated there's a chance that the anime will make its comeback once Gintama finishes, so I'm afraid that you'll be left hanging till then. Nonetheless do check out Gintama as it is super funny slapstick comedy.

I don't believed its cancelled, just on hiatus (imo, not official)
and I think it will come back after Gintama is over and it goes on hiatus

Rumor has it that it and Gintama will be playing Tag Team for a bit. Kind of Works considering how closely connected the two series are.
So Enjoy Gintama for a season or two and then hopefully Sket Dance tags in once Gintama takes a break

The current Gintama series is confirmed for over 4-cour (this also includes reruns). The way I see it there's next to no chance of Sket Dance coming back.

If the manga's still running in a year it could well replace Gintama in its time slot in a year's time.
Guessing what will happen in a year seems like pure guesstimating ... It depends quite a lot on manga popularity and what else is available for a possible year long weekday afternoon run, about nine months from now when they are looking at whether to replace Gintama in that time slot, and if so with what.

I'll have to respectfully disagree with you on that one.
As a matter of fact, as much as I love Gintama, it was SKET Dance that introduced me to it (the crossover episode). Having seen SKET Dance first, I can say for sure that, while the style of comedy is indeed similar in many respects, they are not close to being simple copies of one another in a different setting.
Take my opinion for what it's worth though. Hoping for SKET Dance's return!

If Gintama and Sket Dance do a tag-team on the air (where one airs while the other takes a break to build up content) that would be the greatest idea ever. I love both shows, so seeing them take breaks to give the other a chance to build would be awesome...it's a lot better than simply putting in fillers (though personally, fillers in either show could be really damn good).
Anyways, that'd be what I would hope for, but not certain at all.

It's only been, what? 3 months? and i'm honestly at a breaking point. I feel like crying without my weekly SKET  I thought i had gotten over it, but... everytime i see an image or it's name is mentioned or anything, the memories just come flowing back. |
