If it wasn't for toonami I would never have know what anime was. Besides being hooked on DBZ as well as millions of people, I believe the tenchi series was the main show that brought me to love anime.

i know i watched pokemon but that didnt really get me into it. the one for me and the first one i actually watched was DBZ. i mean it seriously blew my mind when i first watched it like ppl blowing up planets with one hand? awesome

Tenchi Muyo and Gundam Wing were my first two.... I figured I'd throw in this was back when I was 17 or 18 I think, saw them on toonami.
The First DVD's I ever bought were the Tenchi Muyo OVA 1&2 box set... just found out recently it's actually pretty rare... The next ones I got were Gundam Wing and Evangelion.
Even though I've sold some DVD's here and there of series I don't like, I still have my original Tenchi box set along with my Gundam and Eva DVD's. Kinda weird to think back that when I bought those things I watched them over and over and now I have access to thousands of episodes and am so far behind that I rarely re-watch anything.

Dont really remember. It could have been either DBZ, Pokemon, or sailor moon( because my cousin was always watching it). More recently Sekirei on netflix.

I'm pretty sure Kimba was the first anime I ever saw. I was really young though so I don't remember much and I certainly didn't know it was anime. I watched the Jungle Emperor Leo movie recently, it was so nostalgic! It was when I was watching Digimon Frontier that I first learned what anime was, and started trying to find more. At the time Tenchi Muyo, Orphen, and Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 were playing on Adult Swim, and Evangelion was on SBS, so I started watching them. I think .hack//SIGN was the first anime I ever watched subbed.

First anime I recall watching was either Pokemon or Bakugan, when I was about 10. Had no interest in either of them, but two years later Ouran High School Host Club started my interest in anime.  |

same for me except i was 5 when i saw it. it was the tv that gained my interest in watching anime, having to grow up with anime after school every day then watch it also on weekends in the morning.
my favourite when i was a kid was between sakura wars and slam dunk. i always thought the robots were awesome and i find sakuragi really funny and rukawa soo hot.
