Nice that they added HD support in a timely manner to the ps3 its whats kept me from watching shows on it still want 1080p streaming but 720p is good enough for now. Still waiting on android HD streaming been months since you said you where planning to add it. My phone finally got the ics sandwich update so it can support drm video streaming but still stuck at 360p on the CR App not cool

Very great news. 1080p would be best, but 720 looks significantly better than 480.

I know that you are adaptively streaming based on connection speed and it's a cool idea, but personally I'd like the option to restrict my stream to a lower bandwidth. The reason is that with my internet connection I have a bandwidth cap so an option to restrict to 480p would be nice.

Anyway, congrads on getting 720p on the PS3 running.

Oh *bleep* no! D: Why does the PS3 GET HD FIRST THAN THE ROKU Box!?! The roku app was out longer than the ps3 for more than a year but the ps3 is out for a month or so and it gets 720p? that makes me sad... Well now i have a use for the ps3 again...

my final statement...
GIVE THE ROKU BOX 1080P BEFORE THE PS3

While as a fellow Roku owner I would like to see HD available on it, the simple fact is that there are a lot more PS3's out there than Roku boxes.

While we may have 720p on the Roku soon, I don't think we will see 1080p anytime in the near future. One reason is that not all Roku boxes can output 1080p. It also means a third encode for each video (or a fourth, if free member videos on the Roku are only 360p as on the website).

i don't get it, roku's had crunchy in hd for at least a year... that's when we got our roku so i can't say whether it's been hd longer than that...

i'm not mistaken as there's a night and day difference between watching any series available in hd and then going to bakemonogatari...

Even Crunchyroll has confirmed HD is not currently available on the Roku.

If that alone isn't enough for you, look at the number of quality dots to the right of the loading bar when a program starts. Now go to the Roku forum and check the bitrate that represents.

Even for programs that are encoded at the same resolution, there can be differences in quality. There were complaints in the Site News thread for Bakemonogatari about the quality, even compared to other 480p programming, so it isn't the best series to use for claiming programming on the Roku is HD simply because it looks better than it. Try comparing it to something else in 480p, like the early Gintama episodes.
