I've had a sort of a tough time finding anime that keeps my attention long enough for me to finish an entire episode, cause I feel like I've just grown tired of all the stereotypical nonsense that a lot of shows get filled with now a days.

I understand that the majority of shows are usually aimed at a more teenage audience, but just because I'm a little older now doesn't mean I can't enjoy great artwork and animation.

When I say serious, I'm not saying realistic and dark toned or anything, I simply want a show that's to the point and doesn't waste my time. There should be serious progression towards a conclusion of a story throughout the show.

I'm not as harsh a critic as I may sound, but my patience for nonsense has definitely run dry as of late.

So if you've got ideas for interesting anime that are here to tell a serious story and not waste my time with villain of the day nonsense, I'd be happy to hear them!

Also, they don't have to be available on crunchyroll, outside options are always welcome too!

I'm sure there are loads of "serious", artistic and thought-provoking anime recommendations here...

A good way to get around this is to create a thread called

"Favorite Serious Anime"

Ask people "What's your favorite Serious anime?"
Put your first post up and tweak it a bit. Profit.

My Recommendation?

Black Lagoon.
