He's not the only one doing it, and he's definitely not the first. People have been making money from playing games since before youtube was even created. He's still a cunt.

I know he is not the only one doing it, I am pretty confident I could name 10 others or more that do the exact same thing. Personally im not a fan either but the fact still remains is he is doing something most of us dream of (or maybe just me). Youtube is getting more and more popular everyday and with his amount of views per video its probably one of the best ways to play games for cash!

Christ, I could name almost a hundred, probably. There's too many, I used to watch gaming videos all the time, and for the last half a year or so, I haven't watched a single one. Commentaries died ages ago. No, anyone who dreams of doing what he does for a living is obviously a loser, and you should feel silly. It's nowhere near the best way to play games for cash, either, depending on what you mean by the best.
When I say dreaming about what he does I mean the bare minimum playing games for a living and i was hoping you would pick up on that, not overeating and acting out scenarios for children. If you like watching proper gaming commentaries head over to Totalhalibut's channel, I am sure he is probably what your looking for.

The way people like PewDiePie, Tobuscus, Nova etc. play games... they wouldn't be able to make money another way. They're entertainers. Their personality is what they get paid for. Not their gaming.
There are way too many of them... it's super competitive, and there's a lot of dreamers (it's almost like a virtual, gaming-centric Hollywood really). So inflated that YouTube is mostly garbage. Anybody who dreams of doing it is fine... it WOULD be kind of a sweet life... but actually pursuing it, you're wasting your time. Might as well learn another skill or dedicate to education, leave it to the few people who are likeable enough to actually do it.
