It's nice if my significant other has similar interests and would great but it's not a deal breaker to me.
Mine likes anime as it is, but if they didn't I'd still love em. ^+^

I would be happy to be with a girl who shares a casual interest in anime. But it would be a turn off for me if she was obsessed with it and never talked to me about anything else. I have no interest in being dragged to conventions and forced to cosplay and stuff like that.
I dated a girl who was sort of like that, but with video games. And it was the worst and was definitely an attributing factor to our break up. Yet it was also hilarious since I beat her at any given game even though I never really cared.
I'd actually rather be the more anime crazed party in a relationship, and if the girl's open to it I could watch a few titles that I enjoy with her.

I'd still go for a nerdy girl that loves anime, but she doesn't have to be a hard-core, cosplaying otaku. I would want to be attracted to her for her personality, and have the nerdiness be a pleasant surprise-bonus. As long as she has more emotional depth than a mud-puddle, that would be good too. lol
