Shotguns and rifles standard hunting weapons a prerequisite for any Texan. Pistols come natural, or least from a pile of quarters dumped into Time Crisis. Really anyone can use a gun that's part of what makes them so deadly. The training is more for how to use it safely such as proper holding positions and muzzle awareness.

you forget about learning to read wind direction and speed, elevation, and shooting between heartbeats. have a friend who was a Marine, showed me how to shoot.

Been teaching myself to chunk one o' these babies, the tip of the handle on mine is kinda smashed up but it can still crack some skulls  Also I never leave home without my trusty .177 high powered air rifle xD

Between growing up in the woods of Montana( we all had guns up there), military training, and fencing lessons (including kendo, staff, and western styles) I can use pretty much anything smaller than a tank.

I'm good with a hunting rifle. I can't carry anything too big into the field, but my little .243 suits me fine. With a poly stock it is light and accurate, and the ammo is relatively cheap.
Remember to hunt with nonlead!
