Some quite sleazy and some with really high production values like Dracu-Riot, Tropical Kiss, Cafe Sourire, Kamikaze Explorer. I'd say my fave is Kamikaze Explorer or Dracu-Riot, but I have to play with a translation program so it takes longer and the translations are reallt hit or miss sometimes!!!But good, high quality visual novels are really awesome especially if u like ecchi Translation program? How does that work? Any idea if it will work with guilty crown lost christmas? You need a couple free programs. One is called ITH and the other is Translation Aggregator...google it, that's what I did. Basically, you start the game, then start both programs and you get different translations you can choose from (google, babblefish, others). It's not a word for word spot on translation but unless you read Japanese it's about the only way to play all the awesome ADVs out there. |

I'm assuming ITH is Interactive Text Hooker or somesuch. Is it better than Anime Game Text Hooker? I'm not sure which is the original at this point. I remember using one of them to try to play Little Busters!, and finding that it's almost unusable with NVL-style VN's, due to the number of separate text strings those use. Does it work better with ADV-style novels? Because between the difficulty pulling the right text strings, the crappiness of machine translation, and the amount of time... (I think it took me like 3 hours to do the first 30 or so lines of dialogue) I finally decided to wait for the English patch. But if it's improved, I might dive back in with Rewrite. |

Hmmm, not sure really. I only ever used one other, forget what it was called, and the two I mentioned were easiest to use. Think I found them/read about them through hongfire possibly? Let's face it, the vast majority of games, especially the cool ones in HD are just NEVER going to get translated and even fans who attempt to translate often give up because the longer games contain a huge amount of dialogue (sometimes more than 30K lines). So I live with the poor, but useable, translations and let my mind fill in the rest. I've slowed down almost completely on the ADVs because they are time consuming but at one point I had prob over 200...now I just kept the best ones |
