I've never felt an earthquake, and frankly, I don't want to. Sure, some are small and just rock the place, but a fella I knew lived in New Zealand and got hit just recently, luckily he was OK but he reckons houses were knocked down and what not. Hectic.

Don't bet on the earthquake making the list, unless the earthquake 7.0+ or caused a number of fatalities. I was in a 6.0 earthquake in Oregon. It isn't in those lists, but there were only 2 fatalities. It was rated VI on the Mercalli intensity scale. It was pretty interesting. Never expected to have an earthquake there. Ironically, I've lived in California for 13 years now and haven't experienced any earthquakes here.

oh ok oh well at lest no one got hurt or died in this earthquake kinda glad it was a small one thats good that your earthquake was not to bad as well and that good you have not experienced any there.

Apparently, the Indo-australian plate has started to fracture. This year for the first time in recorded history, they managed to prove that some earthquakes on the other side of the world were caused by tremors at the fracture zone near Sumatra. Since the plate is fracturing and there is a proven relationship between quakes in different parts of the world being caused by huge quakes in fracture zones, I suspect we'll have many more large scale earthquakes and Tsunami's in the years to come.

Christchurch, in New Zealand, my mother visited there recently, the CBD is still condemned and inaccessible, they got hit very bad there, I think they're still getting aftershocks.

I live smack-dab in the middle of the Canadian Shield: The MOST stable piece of rock on the planet Earth!
The closest "earthquakes" to me in the past century were a 4.2 some 600 miles East (In Thunder Bay) and a 4.3 some 800 miles North (near Churchill).
Winnipeg = ZERO Earthquakes!

Each time I read about some horrible shake-up I kiss the ground which is so stable underneath me! Mwa! Mwa!
Then I freeze my arse off all winter and survive the floods in the spring...

Seriously, if there were an earthquake here? It's GAME OVER folks!

Mwa! Mwa!~

I've lived in California all my life, and I can only recall maybe 3 or 4 earthquakes I've experienced. They were all small though, nowhere near the big scary ones.

There was an Earthquake in my city once, but most people didn't notice it since it was very small and only lasted a few seconds. I didn't notice it maybe because I was walking.
