Which genre-blend do you find the most enjoyable in anime?

I have found the most fascinating thing about watching anime, and something that seems to be a bit of a shock as you get used to it- especially with some of the 90's and early 2000's animes, is the way genre's that normally would NEVER work in Western shows... blend in odd ways. A guy wakes up with a girl on his right hand, and comedy ensues... only for very emotional elements to come into play, and even some drama and tears later on. Some of the most dramatic and powerful anime's I have seen have also been derived from hentai games! So what's you favourite genre-blend? If I miss it - tell us!

Definitions
"ecchi" - kind of pervy, usually some kind of sexual themes/elements... this is becoming increasingly prevalent in most new anime series now)
"kawaii" - you read this forum and don't know this? Seriously?
