The radical Muslims took my dads sight away while he was protecting America. He's permanently blind now because his eyes were blown out. The radicals also took the lives of friends of my family. They also killed an ambassador and a few ex navy seals who did absolutely nothing wrong to them. They're murders. I hate religion period. Now for ppl who AREN'T radicals then whatever. Believe in what u want just don't force it on ppl or go insane. Thats my opinion.

What do I know about Muslims and Islam? Essentially nothing. I have the main ideas about Islam and Muslims through media, but I never pay that too much mind.
My impression? Well, I suppose it's that I don't really care. I do feel that they're a bit too touchy about their religion, (The whole riots thing over the Mohamed video) but I doubt that they're really different than anyone else who is very close to their religion. I guess they just have more support in some places than others.
As for the ties with Christianity and Judaism, Allah is God. Plain and simple. Same deity with a different name attached. How? Because Christianity grew from Judaism, and I'd imagine that Islam did as well. Unless it grew from Christianity, which I'd like to doubt, but it could be true.

In the end I haven't been confronted with it enough to form a reason to care really. So it doesn't matter to me. However hating a whole group of people due to the idiocy of a militant group is being a bit too judgmental. Sure the militant extremists if they attack should be attacked in return, but the whole group isn't at fault like some people might claim and believe. Eliminate the threats, and leave the non-threats alone as much as possible. Civilians will get killed in war regardless of the safeguards. <End Mini Rant>

Generally they're an alright bunch, but it's a case of the few ruining it for the many and of course those crazies are the ones the media jumps on. Thought you could say it's the same sort of thing for Christians - look at the media coverage for the Westboro baptist church

Though I find it fascinating that it's only recently that most countries in the middle east have become theocracies - but that's less about the people more about government. I'll just leave this here:

I don't care about what religion people choose to practice. I despise those who believe their religion is the only "right" religion. Muslims have a bad reputation because of the many terrorists attacks by Islamic radicals, but shouldn't mean Muslims are bad or evil.

I could care less, honestly. Someone's race, creed, beliefs, what have you.
It doesn't matter to me. If I know a muslim or have a muslim friend, he's my friend first.
I think that people who try to pick and choose people don't understand how life works.
Hell, if life was fair, we'd all have a decent job, marry our first love, and not worry of anything.
[Everyone knows how "true" that tripe ends up being, so yeah...not how it is].

This being said, it is obvious that religious extremism, actually any extremism is ridiculous.
It is extremely illogical, an ideology based on the belief that eradication or conversion is needed.

I don't think I really had much exposure to Muslims until I started university. I met a few through calculus and chemistry classes and they were all great people.

My personal belief is for deportation of the vast majority of them. now I know this is a trap saying my opinion.... the whole threads a trap but often I find that musilms are rude (swearing at customers service because they peeled off a sticker and customer service saw them), pushy (they are always right and if their not they'll get their "cousins" to beat you up when in reality cousins is just a reference to anyone from the middle east), they are disrespectful (I've seen quite a few spit during the national anthem and refuse to stand up during the anthem when asked they replies "this isn't country" and that their country is far better than this one even tho they are 1st generation and have never even lived in their parent country of birth), when i went to high school (vast majority of the student where muslim) we had an assembly about tolerance due to the events of 9/11 during a video they showed the cross going behind some jail bars to which the crowed cheered if you can believe that they actually cheered!

These are just a few of the examples that helped create my opinion . Now I do understand that not all of them are bad that their are some "good" ones out their but my my opinion is built up by the on alot of very negative reactions for every one good interaction have I had 10 bad. Also keep in mind before replying to this comment that I live in one part of the world and it probably isn't even your part of the world.

To me it doesn't matter. I could never judge someone by what they believe, its like me saying "I'm better then you because I believe in Jesus" Oh wait...Isn't that what Christianity does ? Let people believe what they want to believe. Stop judging them by the actions of a select few.

I find it kinda funny and a bit creepy that we JUST leared this at school and now I see the same question.
I for one dun like how people where I live dis on Muslims or Islamic students outside of school. It's annoying and idiotic-they didn't fucking bother you so don't bother them.
Sometimes I feel sorry for 'em 'cause they have all those RULES. How can you live with such heavy chains weighing you down? But they love what they belive in and don't mind the sacrifice so whatever floats their boat.

Then in class we're doing a Mock Trial about Airport Profiling ( Don't start with the fucking "it's needed so we can be safe from terrorist" crap 'cause I had to come up with a legit answer for that a million times ) And the first thing that the class said was "If you're Muslim or came from the Middle East you're instantly a terrorist". I just felt pissed about how SOME people don't give a fuck about their reputation and that somehow spreads to all the good noddles and makes them rotten in other people's eyes. They weren't there when they may have saved a life and were not a terrorist or riot fan.

God uhm in short, I hate the Muslims or Islamic people who get on the news for sickening reasons that effect the ones that not only peacefully worship something they love but go to my school. They don't think before they crash their life, huh?

What you need is " Brief Illustrated Guide to Understanding Islam".This Islamic guide is for non-Muslims who would like to understand Islam, Muslims (Moslems), and the Holy Quran (Koran). It is rich in information, references, bibliography, and illustrations. It has been reviewed and edited by many professors and well-educated people. It is brief and simple to read, yet contains much scientific knowledge. It is available online:http://www.islam-guide.com/book-download.htm

Prophet Muhammad: What Most Non-Muslims Don’t Know is a good article found here: http://islamicnafahat.wordpress.com/category/know-him/

I know a great female coworker who is Muslim and she doesn't wear headdress. And her family is from central Asia.

I'm not a Muslim, but their faith and spiritual discipline is worthy of notice. It's not easy to pray 5 times a day (am I correct?) for one thing.
