Post Reply Your opinions on Islam and Muslims in General?

Troll, troll harder. And look upon your real dishonesty of labeling Muslims here when you seemed to know differently beforehand.

I say again, that's enough. You can't win with your claims, so I'll walk away with my Special Olympics Internet Argument victory remembering that it's the easiest thing in the world to trick the trickster.

I'll leave some tissues here for the blood from your smoking analrage.

By the way, /b/ called, they want you to come home.

I'm not trolling. So you'd be better off just answering me straight.
What dishonesty? I told you, every person has to be judged as an individual. I never judged all muslims.
What I DID do was point towards trends found within the muslim community, to which I supplied sources to make some examples.

I'm not trying to "win" anything. I'm merely interested in having an intellectual spar. Regardless of who "wins".

Does it look like I'm raging to you? I'm not. Out of the two of us, I'm the one staying calm and civilized.
And you can't claim that you've pwned someone when YOU'RE the one who's pulling a cop-out...

Sorry, I never hang out on 4-chan or whatever.

I'm not religious but I have a few Muslim friends, they are all pretty nice for the most part, just regular people
I know people always make a big deal here in America about Islam extremists and everything, but there are just as many Christian extremists (KKK, for example). I don't think all Christians are violent and racist, so I'm not going to judge any other religion like that just the same.

Question: (What is) Your opinions on Islam and Muslims in General?

Modern Muslims are experiencing a lot of distrust in the world today. With events such as 9/11, the prior bombing of the World Trade center. the bombing of a US destroyer, the bombings in the U.K of public transportation, and attempted sabotage of the railways in France are just a few examples of recent events that have brought and reinforced these feelings. But also we see that Muslims fight and kill each other. Events such as the Syrian civil war where aircraft are used against civilians, revolts against governments, even violence against different fractions of the same religion.

You ask have I done any research into the religion?

Muhammad (570-632) gave rise to Islam. After experiencing visions inspired by Allah or God, Muhammad will preach and convert many to Islam. The “Five Pillars” of Islam: Belief in Allah and Muhammad as his prophet, prayer 5 times a day, observance of the month of Ramadan with fasting from dawn to sunset, making a pilgrimage to Mecca, and giving alms to the poor.
Though a native of Mecca, Muhammad is not well received there after insisting his religion was the only true one that must be obeyed. He is compelled to flee to a rival town, Medina. There he gains supporters and then returns, attacks, and takes Mecca. His opponents and Jews are massacred. His ideology and military forces then spread across the Arabian peninsula.
After Muhammad’s death his successors, the caliphs, will go on a global jihad. Jihad is defined as “striving in the way of Allah.”
Arab armies will conquer Syria, the Middle East, Persia, Egypt, and North Africa. They will then advance into southern Asia. They will then invade Spain in 710, and conquer most of it by 725. They will also attack Sicily and Southern Italy. They will then attack Constantinople in 717-718 but will be defeated by the use of Greek fire.
With the assassination of Ali, son in law of Muhammad, a schism will tear through Islam over who could be the head caliph. Those who accepted only the descendants of Ali, and the concept of on-going prophecy were the Shiites. The Sunnis believed leaders could be chosen or elected.
This does not stop Muslim expansion. The Arabs will attempt to invade France and Western Europe.
On June 9, 721, a vastly outnumbered Frankish and Aquitaine Army under Duke Odo of Aquitaine will defeat a massive Muslim invasion force originally estimated at 375,000 Arabs at the Battle of Toulouse.
The Muslims, under Abdul Rahman Al Ghafiqi, will try again and will defeat Odo of Aquitaine at the Battle of the Garonne in 732. They will execute the prisoners and then pillage and destroy the surrounding countryside.
The Arabs will finally be defeated at The Battle of Poitiers or The Battle of Tours on October 10, 732 by Charles Martel, aka Charles “The Hammer” Martel, the leading general of the Franks. Charles Martel had likely been outnumbered at least two to one. Popular estimate of the opposing forces: 30,000 Franks vs. 80,000 Arabs.

I know a few things about Muslims. This is a historic record though. One that only shows a history of violence. I also know that Islamic religion is the largest in the world. It's faith brings great joy to millions. This is the part that I don't know, the part that is hidden. I know that the modern violence has been brought about by individuals who are using religion as an excuse for their need chaos. The majority of Muslims only want peace and a place to raise their families. Exactly what everyone else in the world wants.

An answer to the problems in the middle east would have to start with education. An education that the entire world needs. One that gives answers to what rights does each person have, including the right to live, the right to live where they want, and the safety of the individual and their families.

This answer is a brief one. For me to generate a full answer would create a books worth of history, stats, and theory. I am not an expert, but I feel that the middle east is suffering due to internal and external pressures that have no easy resolution. The World wants to help the middle east, end the conflicts. I think however that the conflicts have to be resolved internally.

And suffering and frustration for everyone else. Particularly women, young girls, apostates, the muslims who wants to be with non-muslims and LGBT persons...
Oh, and everyone else who doesn't conform to its arbitrary nonsense.

I will stand corrected on the size of the Islamic faith. I acknowledged it's history of violence as well as it's current status. No one disagrees on what they have done or are currently doing.

I didn't say that, I quoted history and gave an option of the middle east needing change.
I didn't say an option of Islam as good or bad.
