well, most characters in mangas are drawn really pretty even if they r described as average looking. if u know any character that doesnt suit the common "pretty" aesthetics then please name them
examples:

haruna from koukou debut- she's "average looking" even though personally i think she's pretty, but she's an awesome person


and kumiko from gokusen who stays average looking throughout the whole series which i really like- she's really cool but sometimes(not a lot of times at all) annoys me but i still like her anyway

what i meant to say was. since when do we use adjectives such as pretty which is normally used to describe some sort of physical form. to describe something with no physical body?

a personality can be described using words such as good, bad, fair and so on. what you are asking is basically what character is good looking but has a nasty personality or what character is average looking but has a good or awesome personality.

I really like Sawako from Kimi ni Todoke. Sure, she's a bit dense with some things and tends to brood over everything way too much (i'm guessing this is just a trapping of the shoujo genre) but she's a really sweet girl, she's funny and works really hard at everything. She's also shy which I always find to be a good quality.
