I would personally recommend against the Academy, but I went the OTS route so my perspective is completely different. ROTC and OTS give you options to continue exploring and developing yourself a bit more outside the military world before making the full commitment... and the personality differences (for better or worse) between Academy graduates and the rest of us are quite ostensible.

Never been to a gym but I did workouts in army to keep the body fit, even though we had gym in base I didnt had enough time to attend it so I just exercised in middle of my duty, now I started to work out again after 3 years of break, man... this shit sucks lol.

Different routes are going to lead to different experiences. For instance, I was an E-4 before coming to the Academy. I definitely have a different perspective and attitude than some of my peers. This place is an amplifier; it makes your good qualities better and your worst qualities worse if you let it. The bright side is there are enormous opportunities here. The Academy just gets more funding for different things than ROTC programs ever will. Some Academy grads are awesome and some are terrible. That is a universal truth for all people though. Not every ROTC or OTS officer has been the best. Though in my opinion, OTS officers are pretty damn good. It's an advantageous perspective to go from NCO to officer. At the end of the day, it is what you make of it.

i go to the gym Monday-Friday i stay 2-3 hours every time,my gym has a sauna so i go there almost every Saturday and i go with my brother most of the time. The gym has become a sort of habit after going for a long time i see no reason to stop so i keep going. I have another habit of after going to the gym taking a really long hot water bath i don't really know why.

I live 5 minutes away from my gym so i usually go on weekdays monday wednesday and fridays. Working out everyday is bad for you. At only 50 dollars for 6 months and its different then training at home

Fair. Granted, my perception was spoiled by rooming with a particularly crummy one at IFS.... and all his "bros." Really has soured my (and other OTS'ers') perceptions so far but what you said is absolutely true. NCO-to-Officer have been the best people I've met so far. They were also the shining stars at OTS with roughly 99% of them being completely selfless and incredibly helpful to the rest of us who were missing our heads most of the time. So kudos to you - hope they appreciate you there as much as we did for our priors.

Advantages. Yeah. Powered flight would've been nice to have before IFS, heh

Well, I've lived 20 years, and I've not been to a gym ever, so that means I go an infinite amount a week. Damn I must be hench.

Only work out enough at home to keep myself right on that line between looking good enough to worry about things other than my appearance, and being able to laze about with my free time.
