Can't disable Spanish (??) subtitles

Hi,

Just renewed my Premium account. Unfortunately, I can't seem to disable all subtitles successfully. When I try and watch Vision or ちとせげっちゅ!, for example, I see Spanish subtitles of all the damn things. These don't go away if I click "Turn off subtitles".

Interestingly, if I right-click and select another subtitle (E.g., English), those subtitles are layered over the Spanish ones! In other words, my Flash player seems to insist on playing Spanish subtitles no matter what I do.

Any known workaround? I love the service, but want to be able to watch anime raw. Thanks!

Also, I can't set my Video Preferences to 日本語 - doing so generates an error (リクエスト対応中にエラーが発生しました。).

The reason for the Spanish subs is if your default language is any other language besides the available sub languages then it defaults to Spanish, don't ask me why. What do you have your default language set to? I suggest setting it to English and then clicking the "No Subtitles" option in the right click menu.

It's currently not set to anything, and I can't set it. CR gives me an error every time I try and set my default language.

I can't really think of what could be causing the error you are getting as I am unable to reproduce it myself. I guess I should ask what browser/OS you are using, but I doubt that any combination of possible answers would really shed any light on the problem. I would suggest trying to log out then log back in, perhaps throwing in some cache and cookie clearing while you are at it. If that doesn't change anything then maybe try a PC/Modem reset, on the off chance it magically fixes the error. I wish I could be more helpful, but I am honestly at a loss at what could be causing the problem.

I've tried most of those things, sadly. I also tried three different browsers, upgrading Flash, and clearing the local settings for Flash to boot. I'm going to try a separate computer on a different network tomorrow to see if the problem plagues my account in a completely different setting. If it does, I know for sure that the issue is with my account on the server side.

I've already emailed CR support to see if they can help. Thanks for the attempt.

So it looks like I can eliminate the スペイン語字幕 if I run the videos in 1080p. Every other resolution insists that I learn Japanese by way of Espanol. Weird, but tolerable.

I believe you emailed about this issue as well.
There's an issue with the cache needing to flush so I've got someone working on that.

Yes, patience is not one of my virtues. ;-)

Thanks for looking into it. Hoping that if I can change my language preferences in my profile that this issue will go away.

Hey guys, sorry for bring this topic back from the dead but i'm having here the exact same problem. So, isn't there a solution yet? I want to watch Gintama and Brave 10 but i can't disable the spanish subtitles. If i enable the english subtitles, english and spanish are showed one over the other.

I already tryed Google Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer 10, i tryed to clean the browser cache, i even tryed to watch those animes in different computers, but so far, nothing worked.

If I remember correctly, I got a similar problem when I had my default language set to something not supported by the video and it would default to spanish if available. What do you have your default language set to?

Uuuuummm... so, that was the problem? I tryed here and it worked. By default, my language option was the portuguese, when i changed it to english solved the problem.

Thank you very much for the hint.
