I think the only time suicide can be justifiable is when you are suffering from pain due to an incurable disease and will die soon

I find people who can commit suicide for ANY reason are pretty ballsy. Once you end your life for whatever reason knowing that you'll never come back, that is pretty brave. Right or wrong you took your life without hesitation.

My opinion and only mine.

I agree with you suicide is only considered cowardly because of the consequences it would have on your family and friends but actually killing yourself takes some kind of bravery I mean I don't think I could ever do it.

If people want to kill themselves let them. If they can't figure out their own worth no one else is going to, and their mind isn't going to change. Things that don't change are only interesting for a moment then the curiosity fades. At that point they're a lost cause so forget about them. If they do change their mind later it will be because they found something they didn't have before, and good for them.

Honestly, anyone posting in this thread should watch The Sea Inside.

Now, can I start by saying no? I don't think that if people want to kill themselves we should just join into group and have a massive event of suicide. However, I know that's not what the OP meant. In circumstances of illness, and other clinical issues, I do believe that death should be an option. I do not like the idea of giving people the right to die because often than not we get depressed and lose hope when we're so close to the finish line. Maybe it's human nature? Self doubt? At any rate, death can be offered, but there should be a process by which it's obtained. If, in the case of the man in the movie I recommended above, a person is a quadriparaplegic, if for whatever reason you can't figure out what that means let me sum it up for you- you're as good as a fucking talking vegetable- then yes, fuck yes, why should you be forced to "live" the rest of your days strapped to a chair. How to go about a sane, functioning, and organized way of deciding who can recieve death and who should not is the tricky thing. No one likes to take the blame, even when it's worth it.

So we can transfer our conscience into machines and live forever as a robot, duh

I feel like taking someone's right to die away is a twisted form of enslavement. We already have legal DNRs in most hospitals - why do we not allow people to decide when they want their life to end?
