The description of this guy so far: High sugar intake (presumably bad eating habits), stays up all night playing video games, rarely showers, incapable of holding an real conversation and he stares at your breasts.. Yea, real keeper this one..

Justanotherguy has pretty much said it all regarding the possible reasons as to why this guy is the way he is/acts the way he does. So I'm not gonna start there..

My question to the TS: Why the hell do you want this guy? You haven't mentioned an single positive thing about him, my impression is that you actually dislike him and view him as a loser.. So why waste time?

And side note; No one in this thread has offended you, no one has told you to throw yourself at this guy and no one has called you a bitch. - Reading properly before replying helps to avoid those kinds of misunderstandings.

I was called a bitch, but the guy deleted his post. As far as viewing him as a loser or disliking him , I don't. I think he genuinely has a sweet side to him, I just asked why he prefers video gaming to real life exchanges. I don't want him, I want him to wake up and join the living, and not live in his video games. Whatever, you take my caring as some kind of insult to him. Several women, including myself, have tried to at least get him to socially interact beyond the game..I'm not hating on him. : )

HaHa... I know.. and thanks. I appreciate that.. I suppose I just shouldn't care. Let him be a reclusive zombie with a mad look in his eyes if he hasn't been able to achieve that certain next item in his game.

you can't start dating a gamer and expect them not to play games, that's just pathetic. I understand putting your woman first and spending time with her, but hell I'll play my games to because that's what I enjoy.

There are other types of "relationships" , not talking about dating him, talking about "friendship", which is also a "relationship" . Don't expect him to not do what he enjoys, but would like him to join the land of the living too, and not be avoiding "real life" .

If I had to choose between a video game and a person who has nothing interesting to say, I would choose the video game. And most women are boring to talk with (of course they think I'm boring to talk with since they want to talk about their boring things).

What you just said, really bored me also. So, happily go about your way, and click the mute button.

Good luck, but that's honestly a lost cause. For someone to change, he/she must have the will to do so, and guys like him don't have it.

From reading your post and all your replies, this guy does seem to have an addiction. I mean playing that long into the night and drinking that much soda can not be good for him. I think it's wonderful that you're trying to help him, but one thing I take in hand when trying to help someone is you can't help them if they don't want to help themselves. So if this guy you're talking about doesn't want to change you can't expect him to put any effort into wanting to change either.

Another problem like other posters have mentioned is that he could have social anxiety/phobia. I've met teenage guys that couldn't even leave their home because of their severe anxiety, and that has to be taken care of by their psychologist or psychiatrist. There may be some information that as his friend you don't want to mention online, but if he has social anxiety/phobia then it seems to be that the problem isn't the video games.

Woow nice threath by the way !!

Well i'm a hard core gamer but the key is balance in life !!! I love to socialise with people but what inhate is that man most of the girls out there judges you just for been a gamer. I'm whaa !!! You don't know know me and yet you judge me like crap !! But the key is balance. For example i spend 2 houres playing and the rest of the time i spent it on my cycling training , cooking , reading, studying and going to the theather. Simple. So guys lets work this out xD.

I agree, definately think there are deeper issues in regards to why he only wants to and seems to live for playing his video games. It is all he wants to do. : (

I think that's stereo typical, I haven't touched my PS3 in months or any other consoles, in fact I relish going out and socialising with people, I have even been at a point where I have begged people to let me go to there parties as I hat sitting in my room alone. This being said I'm not much of a social person... I just like to get out and see people having fun.
