Make medieval style weapons and armor, then pretend It's a game.
I like the idea of welding square pipe into the shape of a mace.
square pipe is my favorite pipe.

Your plan relies too much on outside resources. Good luck trying to get supplies at a grocery store when everyone is there and trying to kill each other for food.

So, my zombie apocalypse plan is to lock myself indoors, turn on the tv, and spend the next few hours/days watching live footage of the unmitigated slaughter unleashed by the military. It's not often that you get to see cluster bombs raining down on a crowd of people you don't feel sorry for. Or a cloud of white phosphorous leaving nothing but charred skeletons in its wake. Or a tank grinding pedestrians' bones to dust. Or, you know, just plain old fashioned headshots, in all their pink-mist-explosioney glory.

Pretty much this. ^

We're all basing our survival plan on games/movies/anime, but we really don't know what would happen if it were an actual panic.
If it highly unlikely does, I wouldn't want to miss out on once in a lfe time action. I would start by buying Fluoroantimonic acid and containing it in small grenade like structures. They will be useful in life threatening situations, but would probably still kill me in the process LOL.
I would stock up on two M24s, and far-range handguns or pistols, with a heaping ton of ammunition - Available for carry on and in storage. Bringing along throwing knives and razors might be good back up tools.
For shelter, I would probably roam the city and stay in sunny places. Staying somewhere for too long is risky, even with tight protection.
I should probably learn how to fly and steal some sort of jet somewhere, or partner up with someone who knows their stuff. Wouldn't want too much people, and maybe a motorcycle.
Food isn't a problem as long as 60% + of humanity is dead within my area. Would stock up lightly as to see I'm going to be traveling most of my apocalyptic times.

This makes me wanna go rewatch HSOTD.

The inconvenient truth is that if you don't own a gun and have ammunition and other supplies BEFORE a major disaster of any kind, you won't get one. If you sincerely think you will be able to just drive to the gun store and get one, you are wrong. The gun store owners will be on full-time "shoot looters" watch (and they already have guns), and hundreds or thousands of other people have the same plan that you do. Similarly, if you really think you can just pop off to a grocery store and buy a cart full of snacks or something, you can't. By the time you arrive, the shelves will be empty, there will probably be a riot in or around the grocery store. Not to mention, every major road will probably be packed.

Having, like, a week's worth of food, fresh water, medicine (i.e. antibiotics, iodine pills, painkillers, any prescriptions, as well as first-aid essentials like bandages and wound dressings), as well as a gun and a healthy store of ammunition (I try to keep ~500 rounds for my .22, and ~200 rounds for my SKS, and I shoot ammo first-in-first-out, and my father and brother who are also gun owners/hunters do the same with their guns) is just a good thing to do, not just for the potential zombie apocalypse but for, say, power outages--last time the power went out for a significant amount of time where I live, the local strip mall got looted to shit because the alarms weren't working, and I live right near it. We had to throw out everything in the fridge and freezer after a few days, too. And, because there was no power for the municipal government to test the drinking water, we stuck to our supply of distilled water.

In the event of a zombie apocalypse, I would probably gather all of my family's hunting, camping, and fishing gear, as well as our food, water, medicine and medical supplies, and drive along country back roads about two hours north until we're in the wilderness (Ontario's cool that way), and then just keep hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and foraging our way further north and thus further away from civilization. The #1 goal is to AVOID zombies and other people.

1. Hope that my car is in the garage.
2. Baracade the windows in the front of the house.
3. See if the TV and internet works.
4. Make a plan to drive out of my neighborhood and head toward the nearest gun store.
5. See how much food I have.
6. Make a badass weapon.
7. Try to contact friends or other people who survived.
8. Head to gunstore, get guns and weapons.
9. Head to gas station, get plenty of gas.
10. Head toward country side and find a place with fenses and hold up.

Why are there so many gun nuts here?
If you're not good with one, you're better off not alerting all the zombies in ear shot of your presence.

Well the Walking Dead has taught me what to do in a zombie apocalypse. In the beginning Lay Low for a few weeks so that the beginning part of the zombie apocalypse has died down. Team up with strangers to improve my odds of survival. Scavenge for supplies until I get to a place were I can survive. Then go to a farm to live the rest of my life with my group of survivors.

People are saying they would wait a few days before going out, that seems pretty silly because in a few days the amount of zombies will have increased by some huge amount. In my opinion the best thing to do would be:

- move as quickly as possible to the nearest convenience store, gather as much canned food, rice, food, water, gas canisters (with gas cooker) and first aid supplies as possible
- grab a tarp, grab some blankets, grab a small boat (with oars)
- go by boat to the smallest most secluded place you can find.
- scope out surrounding areas very thoroughly.
- slowly make a fort of some kind during the days and anchoring the boat further out to sleep (with blankets, and the boat covered in the tarp to stop rain) during the night
- invite any passers by into the fort and depending on how they act (or how i feel about them), quite possibly murder them in their sleep and take supplies.

Done. (last one was kinda harsh i know but you cant trust everyone)

take over a marina somewhere warm and set up a barricade to keep out as many zombies as possible
stockpile guns and ammo for hunting and protection from other humans, sword or axe for zombie slaying.
also fishing gear.
then i would start collecting valuables that i could trade for more ammo, food or women when other humans happened by.

id want somewhere with a generator, woodshop, metal shop and preferably some stored fuel.
