Shiny Skin?
Posted 10/28/12
In anime, I've noticed that some charactes have shiny skin. If you don't know what I'm talking about, here are some examples.

From what you've seen, do you like anime girls with shiny skin at all?

I do, and I don't really mind.
But some of the characters with shiny skin..... Hmmmm....it's nice ^ _^

They even do it with their hair if you knot ice in some animes. I think it's suppose to mean that the sun/moon is shining on them.
I honestly don't know.

Well, in swimsuit pics it might be sunblock oil--I don't mind a bit of shiny skin, but some anime/fanart takes it too far and the characters wind up looking like they're made of plastic.

Thread excuse to post ecchi pic? maybe lol
On topic though, I don't have a problem with shiny skin anime girls as long as it isn't excessively done on the character (from your example pic of Kampfer, I'm ok with that level of shininess)

I like it. I sometimes see it used more subtly on characters' lips and I like this as well.

As long as it looks good and suits very well on the character I'm okay with it. Adding Natsuru's gesture and expression also makes her look really cute.

Just as long as they don't "sparkle" like gay vampires, I'm okay.

I think it works if you consider the fact that some type of oil, lotion, or water is on the skin, which can make skin look as such. But otherwise it can look rather unrealistic.

This is also a great example of shiny skin

i love art so i see nothing wrong with trying to prefect animation even if they do go a little overboard i still in joy it cause anime is artistic in its own way
