Haha I dunno bro if I was getting my ass kicked I don't think I'd ever be like: "Stay back bro! These are MEN fighting here!" I think pride is out the window when someone's going chris brown on you.

I just know some guys always like to think they are tough and would actually be pissed if someone intervened. I wouldn't be pissed but I would feel pretty crappy if a friend automatically stepped in and helped out. Good intentions or not I would personally be let down a bit that they thought I couldn't handle myself.

what a generic topic. The obvious choice is to intervene is you trully can call the vicitim a friend. Anyone who just dosent care has no right to call the victim their friend. In the words of Thomas Hobbes.... "All humans are basically evil"

Not necessarily. In some cases intervening can hurt the friends pride which might be more important to them than getting their ass handed to them.

Oh no yeah it would totally suck if they jumped right in there right when it started haha i thought you meant like if they were straight up mauling your bud you just sit there and say "Bro code, he'll thank me later."

Cant have pride if you end up dead from the experience. A true friend wouldn't care about pride or think differently about their victim friend if they got their "ass" handed to them. Lets say my friend Ray is stuck in an ally getting mugged by some low life( won't ever happen, Ray would destroy ANYONE). Now, Ray thinks very highly of himself and others view Ray as a great role model and as a very strong individual. But here we have Ray, off guard and having his face punched in. But here I come, I see Rays in trouble and I dont say to myself "Hey, It Ray he's gonna be fine". No, I run over there and help kick this low lifes ass. NAd when all said is done, I view Ray as the same guy he always is, even if he appeared as a weakling this one time. That is a true friend.

Whoa now. I am not talking any sort of life or death situation or anything extreme. I am talking like a bar brawl or some disagreement that got out of hand. In an earlier post I mentioned that if the friend was stronger I would watch to make sure things didn't go too far and would step in if they were about to.

This is all still applies. Even at a bar brawl, everyones either drunk, stupid or just crazy so things a bound to happen. When I was at a pub in K-town i was minding my own business and some arse just stabbed me with a 3 inch, luckily my real friends helped me out and made no cracks about it.

Sure, crazy things can still happen but they are arguably much more rare than a typical fight. If any weapons get pulled or things start to get out of hand I would be right there either helping the friend or dying with them. What I was talking about is only if the situation allows for it without severe consequences. Sometimes what a person needs isn't the person to always just jump in and help but to be there to help them stumble home.

I'd help out my friend by coming to their aid and beating that person's ass.
Kinda ironic that I read this. I had someone dear to me go through something like this (I personally wasn't there when this happened). His so called "friend" did nothing as he got jumped by a group of guys. Some "friend" he was.

Hahaha these kind of threads are nice, but I think that unless you've actually been in such a situation on multiple occasions, there's no way that you'll ever know how you'd react. And even so, it depends on the situation it self.
An old friend of mine was always acting like a cocky son of a bitch even to strangers that would pass him on the street...
I stopped counting how many times I prevented a fight between him and some stranger long ago, but I think he would've been better off had he gotten his ass kicked a few times, such people only learn the hard way.

People who asks for it, should just have their ass kicked, regardless of your connection to them, but yeah I think I'd stand up for most of my friends.

if its just a normal street fight between 2 guys i'd just let them handle it- most of my friends can handle themselves in a fight. that is assuming its two guys fighting.if it's a girl getting beaten by a guy I would curb stomp him, indefinitely. if it's a girl doing the beating idk what I would do...

I would most definitely back my friend up.

What I would do, specifically, depends on the situation. If it's some kind of fist fight, I'd either break it up or help my friend, depending on the danger. If it's with words, I'd let them settle it unless very offensive phrases and language is used.

If it was a girl hurting my friend...I'd probably try to solve things with words. If that doesn't work, I don't know, push her away I guess? I honestly don't know... If the girl was using a weapon or something of the sort, then hell, I wouldn't think twice about punching her in the face.

I've seen this happen many times actually in high school. My friends loved drama, so they asked for it.
I've always just watched them battle it out, because I didn't want to get in trouble.
But if this were on the street, I'd help. I have some skill in self-defense anyway.
If both were my friend, I'd break it up of course.

Good question. Next time, I'll remember to ask myself this before I dive into someone else's drama.
