Just had a forum about possible movie release next year of "Enders Game". If you have read this story what would be your thoughts on an anime being made of it?

The Enders Game series of novels are my all-time favorite series, and I would absolutely love to see an anime based off of it!!! That would be so amazing! I would just hope that they did it well, and not in a 12-episode pacing.

I think it would actually work better as an anime series than a live-action film. However, the people responsible for those decisons don't ask me about a lot things.
Anyway, I think it would be an interesting idea although I would rather see a new series built from the gound up for anime, but set in the novels' universe. And I don't want it to be a cheap cash-in, as is the norm nowadays. I guess when you think about it various series (Neo Genesis Evangelion for example) have already borrowed several of the themes and used them to different levels of success. |

Yeah, if Ender's balls had never dropped. |

IF I KNEW IT WAS HARMLESS I WOULD HAVE KILLED IT MYSELF!

I think it could be done, but would be difficult. It would certainly be easier than a live-action version (The shower scene, for example), but it would need a sizable length in order to fully capture his slow descent into madness.

Wouldn't it be great if there was a place that anime fans could post their ideas and suggestions to the anime production companies. I'm sorry but many of the present day animes just seem to lack in creativity. Mind you I understand that there are only so many ways to spin a story, but settings and characters can make or break a tale. I suppose this is why I think Ender's Game would do well within the anime world. The setting is sort of Deadman Wonderland space age and high-tech very austere and the battle room scenes could be very violent but strategic like Code Geass was. They could spend more time on character relationships and back stories, as well as developing the training officers and staff of the battle school. Really if you think about it they could really go for years with this story. |
