Looking back Blacknife saw the wierdest thing... a young woman. He had no idea where, or even when she had come to this place but just the thought startled him. He saw so few of them since he came to the front he had almost forgotten what they looked like. He was an older guy in terms of the average player, being 25 in real life but still the sheer contrast of what had happened just moments before and now startled him. Then the funniest emotion yet hit him like a rollarcoaster coming in to the end of the ride, shame. He was ashamed on how he had acted, sure the individuals had tried to kill him, had killed his wife. But what if this woman had seen him only minutes before. She would have thought him a monster, something to be feared.

Like a bolt of lightening he was struck with a new purpose, a new reason to not only keep going, but to keep true to himself. He needed to be strong and protect the younger ones in the game. The world was too cruel and here, they would have it hard enough, there was no reason to become the exact thing he cursed every night. What little innocence was left in this world, and the real world needed to be protected. And with this thought a little part of his soul came back. It wasn't large, or shocking, it was almost like he was a little less... empty. And so he walked away, certain that the woman would never know, or care, how she had helped him.

Zwei appeared at the Town portal. He had spent the last days killing monsters down at the last floor. But now he had too return to town. His main blade were still cracked. And he were still not satisfied enough with his own strength to use his new one.

He felt his belly rumble, and realized he hadn't eaten since before the boss fight. He were starving.

He went to an inn and ordered himself some food. He sat there in a dark corner only concentrated on his food. The food had never tasted as good as this and he ate his fill and even more.

He sat whit a glass in his hand, reminiscing about the life he had before SAO, and had before he even knew it himself, concluded that the life he has now, in the game was better.

With a large yawn Ravus stretched out on the bed. His right arm not completely extending as it impacted something rather fluffy, letting it rest on top of the mass and starting to scratch slightly.

" Just like having a great guard dog.."

He smirked as his light-blue eyes finally opened and he looked over to the wolf companion next to him.

" I suppose we should get to leveling... Then again we could just get a meal first."

The would let out a low, friendly growl as if confirming the statement made. Sitting up Ravus proceeded to open his menu and equipped his primary gear, that Navy Blue cloak, Dark Green leather chest piece and matching pants. The wolf that was laying next to him had proceeded to get up and walk to the door in the passing time. Ravus following his pet to the door he reached out and opened the door before proceeding downstairs. There were a few other people enjoying a breakfast, getting ready to set out in their groups or solo. Taking a seat at a table, his wolf resting behind him just like the night before. Placing an order for some form of breakfast sandwich, rather two of them and a glass of what was similar to orange juice, had a different after taste though.

As he glanced about the room, he was getting the usual stares and quick glances. Though one person grabbed his attention, what he assumed to be a frontliner simply because he was in the boss fight on the previous level. Ravus's attention being diverted as the meal arrived, setting one of them on the floor for the wolf to eat while he started to quickly devour his own.

Zwei looked around a bit and noticed a familiar player seated at a table across the room with a huge wolf besides him. He didn't collect any other details, as he drifted of into his own thoughts again.

In the real world he were weak. Very weak. He were a loner and had always been. The bullies in his class didn't even bother bullying him, they just ignored him, and acted as if he were air. Even the teachers had stopped noticing him. They never asked him a question, and more than once a day they forgot to call his name while taking attendance. They also forgot to give him the papers they handed out, and they were always surprised when he then asked for the paper.

But SAO were a new start, here he could become strong and he could gain a life.
Then he felt guilt, here he was morbidly happy that things were as they were, and people died, death here meant death in real life, and he was happy that he was here, and that he couldn't return to real life? "Holy crap i'm twisted" he thought, letting a smile past his lips. The motion felt weird, smiling. But it was something he could get used too.
"I really hope this won't end, i really do!" he thought to himself. shocked of the level of morbidity his thoughts held.

Wolf separated from the group for now but he knew they would meet up again in the near future. Wolf may have quit being a drunk but he decided he didn't want to quit drinking altogether. He was now equipped with a piece of 'meat on a bone' that commonly gets dropped from the plentiful of bear cubs here.

He placed his rather big hand on the door being careful not to break it. Recently he has actually decreased the durability on a door from gripping it too hard. He was used to holding so tightly onto his giant sword that it became so natural for him. He walked into the bar without a care for anyone else in there. Taking a giant bite out of the meat, he orders one bottle of wine from the bartender.

As he was waiting for his order, he finished the thick heaping of meat and took out another one. The bartender arrived with his drink. "Here you go, sir," he said to Wolf.

Wolf took the bottle, opened it with his teeth, and finished it right then and there. It tasted just like real wine. The digital information made a collision with his 'taste buds' and made him really feel like he was drinking wine. By this time, Wolf had completely forgotten this was just a game. This became more than that. This was reality, and reality was just a game.

The bottle materialized away as Wolf removed it from his lips. He took another bite out of his 'meat on a bone' and headed out of the bar. Where did he want to go next?

The group walked silently back to town. No one wanted to be the first to talk, and Vyse was too lost in thought to care. When the group reached Parma, Wolf and the others broke off, leaving Vyse to find a place to rest. The sun was coming up, and he had not slept since before the boss battle. He continued to search town, looking for an inn that seemed out of the way. Eventually he came upon just such a place. The small building was overgrown with creeping foliage, the windows were all shuttered, and the sign that hung above the door was barely legible. Stepping inside, he noticed that the building was still in good shape, even if the outside was looking worse for wear. The figure behind the front counter smiled at him as he approached, and Vyse unwillingly returned the gesture.

Once Vyse was up stairs, he immediately made for the bed. Quickly removing his armour as he crossed the room, and withdrawing a small knife from his inventory which he then slipped under his pillow. He slumped into the bed and as he lay back, his silver hair swished around the corners of his vision before falling across his face. Before long sleep was creeping over him, and his thoughts turned to dreams of the outside world.

Blacknife wondered towards the bar. He knew that he had should keep to himself but he felt a freedom he hadn't felt for a while. He wasn't being pursued right now, the gang would definitely be more cautious next time and that was both good and bad. Next time the trap would be harder, and stronger, but it would take time to get it set up and ready. In the mean time he could explore, maybe even meet some friends.

His thoughts surprised him, he was thinking positively for the first time in a while. He still had a rage inside but he had buried it deep, so deep that it would only see the light of day if it was really needed. Thinking on this he worked his way to a bar; he didn't know where everyone else had gone so he went to one that had a good view of the main street. They still needed to find the boss but he was unsure how. He knew now that although he was good, he couldn't go alone but he wasn't sure if he wanted to join a guild either. He didn't know what to do but he thought a beer or two might help. It was an old habit he had had back in the real world and he thought he would start it up again.

As he opened the door he glanced back the way he came looking at the road but seeing the lake where his life had changed, then changed again. He hoped that woman would be all right. She was probably capable enough but he was unsure if it was enough. Oh well if she needed help she would have asked. Finally coming back to where he was he opened the door, not quite sure if he was glad he had choose this bar or not.

It didn't take the pair too long to finish up their meal. Ravus looking down to his partner "Shall we go? Plenty of experience is needed if we're going to keep ourselves alive." Turning he proceeded out into the streets of Parma, nodding to the one he recognized from the boss fight on his way out.

Even in the real world Ravus was always quick to adapt. Sure, being trapped like this was a bit hard to accept at first but the reality sunk in quickly as he watched people dieing to the boars on the first floor. The situation is what it is, the sooner people accepted this the sooner they could move forward and do their best to free themselves from it. That was his belief and it's what kept him strong.

As he proceeded through the town, he recognized a few other faces that were just returning. They seemed fairly solemn which made Ravus question what might've happened. Maybe they lost a friend, it wasn't unheard of. It was none of his business though, and he had more important things to worry about, namely his own survival.

He had found a decent farming spot the previous day, good spawn rate with just the right challenge to the opponents for the rewards. With any luck he should be able to gain another level there today, as soon as he exited the safety of the town zone he broke into a sprint. Dashing down a road into a light forest before trailing along a river, after a few minutes at full speed he slowed down to a stop. Focusing on his detection skill to see what else was in the area, before looking down to the wolf. "All clear?"

A hooded figure sat right next to Wolf. As the player was loudly biting off a piece of meat, Argo took this chance to sit right next to him for a chance to talk. "That was quite a fight" she said, referring to the Boss battle on the previous floor. Argo knew what happened; she was there. She fought alongside with them against Keele but never had a chance to stand on the limelight on things. Despite this, she didn't want to stand out. Covert operations were her specialty, and she has only made contact with a few players since she started fighting on the front lines.

"Now about that dinner..." She looks at Wolf with a big grin on her face. It seems Argo has taken a liking for this person.

Zwei Nodded back to the tamer who left, and realized that he had been sitting there for hours, just daydreaming.
He raised himself up from the chair, and stretched his legs a bit. His black coat falling down, as it lost the shape of the chair.
He loved that cloak, he didn't know why but it just felt so right. It were truly amazing how good he felt at this moment, fully rested.

"I think it's time for me to go too." he said to himself. "But first i need to find a smith to repair my blade!"

He went into the street and started looking for a smith. Maybe if he were lucky he could find the one from yesterday, and hire him. He really needed a smith he could trust, especially now that he were gonna start using his new blade soon.

He still needed some more strength, but a day of manual labor helping the townsfolk do their repairs, and build new buildings. Carrying the woodwork and stones needed for the buildings were a great way to increase his strength without the boredom of normal training, and he helped the local townsfolk, it was really a win win.

Vyse's dreams eventually come to an end, and he groaned as the afternoon sun shone through the slats of the window shutter, signalling the day was coming to an end. He sat up on the bed, and began to re-equip his usual outfit. While putting on his pauldrons, he noticed a crack in the left piece. With a sigh, he continued to dress, knowing that before he went out hunting again, he should probably replace and fix his worn out gear.

As he stepped out of the inn and onto the street. It was almost completely empty. Paying it no thought, he left in search of an armoury. His search came to an end when he found a smithy that seemed quite popular. It's doorway was big and inviting, and through the window, Vyse could see a large number of customers browsing the wares inside. Pushing open the heavy wooden door, he stepped across the threshold and made his way to the counter. The clerk noticed him waiting and moved over to him.
"How can I be of assistance?" he asked in a charming tone.
"I wish to see the best weapons and armour you have to offer," Vyse replied. And with a bow, the shop clerk directed Vyse into a side room.

Inside the room was an assortment of weapons hanging on the walls and suits of armour stood tall and proud, as if they were at attention. The clerk asked Vyse for his preference in weapon, and he showed him his current sword. The NPC looked it over before turning to the wall of weapons, a look of deep thought on his face. Finally, he reached up and retrieved a sword from its hanging and presented it to Vyse. As he lifted it, he noted its incredible lightness, and after asking a few questions, found that it was quite weak in comparison to his current weapon. This process continued for a while, and Vyse found that most of the swords he could afford were actually not as good as the one he now carried.

Directing his attention to the armour on display, he asked if they had anything to replace his pauldrons. The clerk again thought for a moment before producing a pair to show to Vyse. The shoulder plates were heavier than the ones he was used to, but the defence stat was also significantly better. He turned them in his hands, noting the detail in their design.
"I'll take them." he said with a nod. Impressed with his new purchase, he left the shop before setting off in the direction of the combat fields to train once more.
"I wonder if it will be as eventful this time around.."

She was annoyed. Everything you could swing a sword at gave you the smallest general amount of experiance points and barely anything dropped except for this weird meat. As the last of the sun disappeared behind the hills, Yuuki was still training, trying to get her accuracy and stamina up. It was frustrating, and it seemed like someone was laughing at her the whole time, telling her to give up. Groaning after she recieved yet another piece of meat after a killing, she looked at her inventory and took out her dragon egg. She actually felt a little lonely. Without her little brother pestering her, time and time again she caught herself thinking that it was too lonely. Pathetic. The little beast's warmth was the only thing that kept her company; the green speckled shell a barrier for what could be inside to be her only friend at the moment. Looking at the vast lake of water before her, Yuuki placed her palm on a branch, grabbing it in a firm hold before hoisting herself up.

After reaching the top of the swaying tree, she leaned back, clutching the egg in her hands before slowly closing her ruby eyes and falling into a deep sleep. She didn't care if bears swarmed the tree; she was high enough. She did care about one thing, though. She was here.

All alone.

"Almost didn't notice you there," Wolf said almost producing a grin. His wolf like design matched her cat like one. Moments of the moss battle flashed in his head as he remembered every slash and stab he attempted. Skipping further back in time, he remembered about the "Grand Battle of the Elves." She was one of the first to help him out when he needed it the most.

"Dinner would be nice," Wolf began. "But not here, I know of a better place." Wolf guided her to a different building not too far from the bar they were just at. It was three stories high and had a balcony with a great view of the lake. He checked his inventory. "Plenty of extra cash," Wolf thought to himself.

"After you," Wolf said as he opened the door for her. Just then, for some random reason, he wonders if the mail man in real life still delivered his weekly mail to his door.

Asuna saw some of the frontliners already heading back to the town. One of them in particular (Black) looked like he was completely thrown off by her presence. She would have no idea what type of emotional and mental impact she had upon the stranger.

Once she bravely stepped into the water, it took all of her will power to continue walking forward towards the other side of the lake. One emotion that could potentially overcome motivation was fear. When she first came into the world, fear was all she felt. She felt hopeless and completely trapped. Over time, she began to channel that fear into strength. Strength to become a part of the effort to clear all of Aincrad's floors. Aincrad forced her to grow up. Forced her to not be a scared, weak 15 year old. She would have to mature into a young woman who can overcome her challenges no matter how dangerous they may be.

Whenever a piranha would jump out of the water to try and snap at her, Asuna would hold out her rapier and send out multiple sword thrusts. The thrust she utilized very often was the basic rapier skill Linear. She became so fast at executing Linear, that one would only see green flashes whenever she utilized that skill. Once out of the lake, she continued forward to map some more of the combat zone.

Less than a minute after she got out of the water, she hears this thump, thump from behind. Asuna turns around in a battle stance, her senses picking up that more danger is coming. She sees a loud splash as a machine erupts from the water and walks onto land. The machine was a humanoid that looked like its paint had rusted off, meaning it was sort of old. However the humanoid red eye's and tall metallic body made it look dangerous. (I'm imagining them to be like Terminator styled machines). Once it was out of the water, it stared intently at Asuna. It was obvious that it was a hostile stare. The humanoid's hand reached behind its back and pulled out a jagged dagger.

Asuna simply stayed in her position, waiting for the humanoid to make the first move. The humanoid advanced towards her quickly and sent a forward jab with its dagger. Asuna was able to read the humanoid's movements based on the slightest changes in its body language, so she jumped to the side to avoid the jab. She followed through by stepping to the robot's open left side and sent a linear strike at it. Her rapier's blade glowed a bright green as she sent a total of 5 strikes. After those 5 strikes she jumped back to avoid being smacked by the humanoid's spinning hand. Even though the humanoid looked menacing, it could not keep up with her speed.

The humanoid continued to attack at the rapier user with more dagger jabs, but Asuna was able to move out of the way of those attacks or parry them off. She ducks down and sends more linear attacks at the humanoid's legs. The health of the humanoid was dramatically going down, it wouldn't be too long until it was taken out. However the humanoid seemed like an intelligent being since Asuna could no longer strike it at the spots she attacked before. Its defense was getting gradually better the longer their fight went.

Within the split second she had to breath, she took a brief glace at her surrounding area. Within close range was a tree with multiple branches. Asuna ran towards the tree and could hear the loud stomping of the humanoid pursuing her. She uses her acrobatic skill to get onto some of the branches and went half way up the tree. Where she was positioned at was a bit higher than the humanoid. Just as the humanoid was about to reach the tree she leaps off the tree with her rapier at a downward fashion.

"HAAHHH!"

She lets out a war cry as her rapier successfully strikes the humanoid's head, which was the final blow necessary to finish it off. When the humanoid's HP depleted, its body exploded into multiple polygons. Asuna was able to land on her two feet and took a few seconds to calm her breathing.

Blacknife leaned against a railing outside his temporary home. He did not know how long it had been since he had left but he just stood there looking out on the water. It reminded him of his hometown. He was from Canada originally but had moved over to Japan to be with his wife. He missed his hometown. It had lakes all over and was a smaller community. He didn't really have many friends there anymore since he had been gone so long but the air was cleaner, and he just felt like he was home whenever he returned to see his parents, which were rare now days. He had been busy, between his marriage and his job he didn't have the time to see his parents like he used to. He wondered what he would do if he got out, all he knew was he had to keep his promise. He needed to bury his wife in the real world near her parents. He felt a loss when he thought of her, a hole where her love used to fill him with joy and happiness. Enough thinking, he thought ironically. I will have another nap and then see if anyone is still about or that wanted his help.
