You can never be too old for any fandom, in my opinion.

No, it's not too old., and the only person who decides if you grow up, is you. All in all, I'd say you're doing just fine.

You're never too old to be watching anime! I'm pretty sure I'll be in your shoes one day xD. I've been into anime ever since I was 4 years old, and I am still just as in love with it as I was back then! Anime is my whole life, I'll love anime until the day I die. Otaku for the rest of my life fo'sho! I respect you man xD. I'd love to have a grandfather like you. :3

As Nezumi said, you're never to old to be an otaku. They should just simply accept who you are.

No way. You should enjoy doing what you like the most without having the fear of being judged, especially by your own kids. Everyone has their own tastes, and I'm willing to bet that they're old enough to understand that. Just because your likes (as well as all of our likes) are a little bit different than the majority of modern society doesn't mean you're going crazy or that you need help, it just means that you're a bit more unique than other people. You, in particular, are very unique, because to be completely honest with you, I have never heard of a 63-year-old otaku before I read your post. Having something in your life that you enjoy is something that you shouldn't have to worry about, and, frankly, I'm rather ashamed of your children for thinking that you're "nuts."

A majority of modern society of my generation enjoys partying, attending social events, and getting too drunk and high to think. I can't stand people who are like that. And still, they think they have the right to judge people who are like us. Yes, I know that some otaku do that too, but it's clearly not all that they do every day. Maybe people who feel like they just need to judge us should look at themselves in the mirror until they realize, "There's a brain in that thing."

I don't mean any of this in an offensive manner, as perhaps you may have thought I was pointing out your children. I don't know your children, so I can't point offenses at them individually, that's just not right. I was just talking about the general population.
