waiting for anime episodes to come out

does anyone else hate waiting for new anime episodes to come out? it takes forever like a whole week its crazy. anyone else just watch already completed animes so you don't have to wait?

I don't hate it, per se. I'm actually rather patient when it comes to new anime. Then again, I have around 400 DVDs worth of anime I can watch, not to mention all the other shows (ongoing or not) I can stream from CR in the meantime. At this point, I'm juggling about a dozen new shows, plus twice as many shows I'm still catching up on. (I work from home, so I typically always have something on while I work.)
In short, I'm never at a loss for options. |

Its worst for free users because now, Crunchyroll refuses to give simulcast to free users, so If you want to want to watch the newest episode of naruto Shippuden or Sword Art Online, you have to wait next week to watch it but another problem, it release the same time as the newer episode, so it will be best to get a all access membership from a limited time if your buddy send you one.

Being a week behind isn't that big of a deal. Just treat the previous weeks simulcast as your own. Or pay the 7 dollars. These subscriptions are a great deal.
I also really wish they'd do away with the guest passes. The weekly beg spam in comment sections is ridiculously annoying. I even get periodic spam in my inbox as well. |

Blast reality. Burst it into shreds. Banishment...this world!

that's why you watch like 20+ in each season so that everyday you'll have anime to watch...
when one limits the amount of anime he or she watches threads such as this one arises solution: watch more anime |

If you are in the US, there's lots of old series to watch on Hulu. Plus you can always pick up a k-drama ~ those suckers last over an hour an episode, so following a 20 or a 60 episode k-drama can pass a lot of time. Obviously if you live outside the US, you don't have the Hulu option ... in Canada there is Funimation.com with a lot of old titles available in Canada, and AFAICT all of the Crunchyroll k-dramas are US/Canada ... ... but outside of US/Canada, getting legit back catalog anime is harder. The k-dramas are still a way to pass the time between your favorite series coming live ~ a lot of them are available quite widely on Viki. |

I hate waiting for new episodes. For me it kinda interrupts the pace or the flow or whatever the correct word is. Sometimes I let a few build up and then watch it. That is kind of satisfying. But eventually I fall off the wagon.
Some people are suggesting you just watch more anime. I'm not that big of an anime fan that I can just watch anything because it's an anime. It has to be something I want to watch. I do find that I'm most impatient with shows I really want to watch like Hunter x Hunter. |

I don't mind the wait usually, but annoyingly, 3 of the 4 shows i'm watching this season are all shown on the same day, so I don't have much to fill in the space inbetween (well, league of legends does that for me i suppose). Still, at least I have Sakurasou No Pet Na Kanojo today :D
Also, back in the day I used to trade fansubs on cd (the days of dial up internet). Waiting a week isn't that bad compared to waiting back then |

Yeah that's what I basically do since my Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays this season are basically devoid of any new eps except for like 1 or 2

As time goes on, I've gotten more in the habit of waiting until near the end of the season (if I anticipate spoilers) or after the season is over to begin watching most series. I typically only watch week to week if I either expect the series to be neither great nor bad, or if the episodes have little to no continuing plot (shorts and some comedy series). |

I have so much that I haven't seen but still want to watch, that I don't have that problem. In the early days, like a decade ago, I remember watching episodes over and over again waiting for new DVD's to come out as there were no legal simulcasts and I wasn't into fansubs at the time. I was also a bit more selective back then as it was upwards of $30 for just a few episodes, but now I pretty much give everything a fair shot, which means my backlog of episodes increases by the number of shows airing that season. I do drop stuff from time to time and usually skip 1-2 shows a season all together, but with 40 shows a week coming out I find it hard to even make a dent sometimes. |

So far behind on anime... need to catch up
|
|
|
I'm used to it, because when I wasn't following current shows online anymore, I was watching Full Metal Alchemist on Adult Swim.
Not to mention I let so many shows pile up there's a lot I still want to see anyway. Up until then though(the VHS days), I wasn't starting shows that weren't completely released yet. |

AnimeKami wrote: that's why you watch like 20+ in each season so that everyday you'll have anime to watch... when one limits the amount of anime he or she watches threads such as this one arises solution: watch more anime But then when I miss a day, I feel like I'm "behind," and I need to catch up -- like I blew off a homework assignment or something. Although, you're right that I never feel like a week is too much to wait. There is always something to watch. |

It's just the same as watching a series on TV.
Before that? Serialized Movie shorts Radio dramas Newspaper serials (Several of Charles Dicken's works were printed one chapter a week in the newspapers) This has been going on for quite a long time! Nothing new. If you like the show/movie/drama/chapter/manga/anime? You fill in the time discussing it with your friends! Or complete strangers on chatsites, that works too... |
