Huh... Never knew there was something called Fruitarianism. Guess you learn something everyday. Either way it does not bother me as I love to eat all types of food.

I understand that there are some who do; amusingly enough, they refer to themselves as "beegans."

That is.... the best.

Or should I say the bee-st?

all the vegans/vegetarians(apart from 1) i have ever met, have been the most boring, sad and useless people, that i felt depressed after 5 minutes...

i was once at a wedding, where there were served "normal" food, i.e meat, potatoes and that sort of thing but there were also an vegetarian option... one of the party guests had her own food with her, consisting of bread and a few veggies... i was sat next to her and after trying to talk to her i felt like all the energy was sucked from my body and i wanted to lay down and cry...

so yeah meat taste like murder and murder tastes pretty fucking great if you ask me

I'm fine as long they're not evangelical about it. I'd actually like to try out some non-meat recipes, tbh.

How do you people even survive?

They sell supplements, and there are plenty of alternatives like peanut bitter for protein and such from what I hear.

to my fellow posters here that are vegan or what have you. i'd recommend you to take a daily dose of vitamin b-12 and other vitamins because there are stuff that our bodies needs that an only fruits/veggie diet cant replace.i know cuz while i'm not a vegan or anything like that, i do suffer from vitamin-b12 deficiency....so beware in not neglecting those vitamins that are essential for your nervous system.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamin_B12_deficiency

for every vegan I see I eat a double serving of meat so that there objective is futile. I eat enough meat for the both of us.

I hate the ones that say they do it because they feel sorry for the animals. The animals have already been fucking killed just so you can eat it, how do you think it'll feel when it finds out that you threw the meat away "because you feel sorry"for it?

Are you intentionally being dense about this? It's obviously to decrease the demand and therefore the supply and in the long run saving more lives.

Ugh, can't believe I'm even responding to someone whose serious qualm about veganism is their sympathy towards animals.

Ah, the same for me actually. I don't know how or when but I don't seem to have a craving for meat like other people do.
Whenever I say something like "I don't like meat, but I can still eat it" they think it's weird. When I say "I don't like bacon" people just question me on why I couldn't like something so delicious. I guess it's my opinion in food in general. To me food isn't something I particularly eat for taste or a good feeling; rather something for energy to keep me going. It's strange.

Oh, that makes sense. Still... it,s kinda weird for me knowing there are people who don't eat meat.

To each their own. I will forever be an omnivore. Though lately I've been eating more yogurt and fruit....well, that is, until halloween came....... Then my diet just went to shit. All the chocolates and candy.

I don't think I can become vegetarian.

Our body needs 20 amino acid... and the majority of those amino acids come from red meat. I simply don't have the time to eat different plant products to obtain all of them.

But I think it would be great to be vegetarian... animals are being mistreated by the meat industry.

But if you look at nature, all predators are just as evil as humans... spiders trap their prey and wrap them up in silk... tigers chase and tear a baby doe from limb to limb...

so i've come to realise i'm a vegetarian without even really trying to be one, i do eat fish rarely though and don't really crave meat i suppose. i don't think it's wrong to eat animals or animal products such as dairy as i probably wouldn't be a happy young lady without meh dairy and eggs anyways i would like to get some of your views on these different lifestyles/diets
Fruitarianism: involves the practice of following a diet that includes fruits, nuts and seeds, without animal products, vegetables and grains

Veganism:is the practice of abstaining from the use of animal products, particularly in diet, as well as an associated philosophy that rejects the commodity status of sentient animals. A follower of veganism is known as a vegan. meats, dairy, eggs even clothing made of animal products such as wool are avoided.

Vegetarianism:Vegetarianism is the practice of abstaining from consumption of meat (red meat, poultry and seafood). It may also include abstention from by-products of animal slaughter, such as animal-derived rennet and gelatin.

why do you think people would choose to eat this way?
how do you think you'd be/feel if on any of these diets?
have you ever been/ are on any of the above? if so how has it changed you or how do you feel about it?
or answer any way you like i guess, i'm just curious

You actually sound like a Flexitarian, a category you forgot to mention. I only encountered the term earlier this year in The Wall Street Journal, but according to that august publication, flexitarians allow themselves small bits of meat--particularly fish--but eat predominately as would a normal vegetarian. . .

No offense to vegans out there I'm sure not all vegans are the same BUT THEY DRIVE ME CRAZY.

Two of my best friends both turned vegan at the same time. And annoyingly enough, the most annoying one started because of a BET. But anyway, they started harping on me because I was drinking milk. And the annoying one gave me a lecture on how milk is UNNATURAL and BAD. It's just.... ugh. Please get over yourself, and if you're going to lecture me, bring a valid argument because I will THROW IT ON THE GROUND.

Believe me, I could go on forever about vegans and some of the stupid shit that they do (there's about 5 of them at my school, and they're all equally ridiculous and ignorant)

The ones I know aren't about being vegan or caring for the environment, they just do it because they think it makes them look special and seem smart. But really, it's bothersome.

OH! And here's the best part, one of them forced me to buy her guacamole because it would "give her the nutrients she needed because she's vegan" GIVE ME A BREAK. Bitch, you sit down and eat the shit I give you. Don't order me around because of YOUR OWN PERSONAL CHOICES. And get rid of those stupid PETA activism stickers and what have you. PETA is crazy and you know it. It was once a thing to be admired, but now it's just reached the point where they should be shut down. I swear, some of the stuff they say is crazy.
