Oh, that makes sense. Still... it,s kinda weird for me knowing there are people who don't eat meat.

Especially, when our culture here in the USA has larger than normal meat portions, and is usually the majority of every meal. Even the idea of a meal without any animal products sounded a bit weird when I first heard of it.

No offense to vegans out there I'm sure not all vegans are the same BUT THEY DRIVE ME CRAZY.

Two of my best friends both turned vegan at the same time. And annoyingly enough, the most annoying one started because of a BET. But anyway, they started harping on me because I was drinking milk. And the annoying one gave me a lecture on how milk is UNNATURAL and BAD. It's just.... ugh. Please get over yourself, and if you're going to lecture me, bring a valid argument because I will THROW IT ON THE GROUND.

Believe me, I could go on forever about vegans and some of the stupid shit that they do (there's about 5 of them at my school, and they're all equally ridiculous and ignorant)

The ones I know aren't about being vegan or caring for the environment, they just do it because they think it makes them look special and seem smart. But really, it's bothersome.

OH! And here's the best part, one of them forced me to buy her guacamole because it would "give her the nutrients she needed because she's vegan" GIVE ME A BREAK. Bitch, you sit down and eat the shit I give you. Don't order me around because of YOUR OWN PERSONAL CHOICES. And get rid of those stupid PETA activism stickers and what have you. PETA is crazy and you know it. It was once a thing to be admired, but now it's just reached the point where they should be shut down. I swear, some of the stuff they say is crazy.

Sounds like your friends would like to talk about Jesus. It might be worth a shot to give a taste of their own medicine.

The nails on your hands are inefficent compared to claws, our digestive system is more similar to herbavores in that they're long enough to digest plant matter. Our jaws move in a circular motion and we have more molars which are designed to grind plant matter.
Checkmate.

Our digestive tracts have adapted to eating cooked food, not raw food, and are much smaller in comparison to most any other species of animal. It's a pretty unique development from what I heard.
There are also monkeys, with the same nails as us who eat meat (other monkeys specifically), and several people and infants have died from improper non meat diets. Meat is also well-rounded nutritionally, and has been apart of the human diet since forever. Insects and fish are also meat to me even though some wouldn't consider them as meat.

fuck.. why can't people just come to the conclusion that perhaps we are omnivores and should eat whatever we want to, to sustain health in the way we personally want to.

No matter what lifestyle other people choose, people have no right to judge. People just need to let others live..

If people want to be vegan, vegetarian, or fruitarian, then good luck on your endeavor. Its a personal choice people make based on their upbringing, or other influences in their life. If your going to adhere to one of the three, then the least you can do for your own sake is to be well informed about it.

My younger sister was a vegan for about 2 years, and despite the fact that its percieved as a 'healthy' lifestyle, she was sick an aweful lot. Some of that was no doubt genetics though. Its also tough financially to support a vegan lifestyle, and I imagine the others also. She was a college student with a full time job, and after 2 years she just couldnt afford to maintain it. Almost no processed foods, very little prepackaged stuff, buying fresh veggies and fruits several times a week and preparing it all yourself everyday is a bit tough if your not fully prepared for it.

But the worst are the ones that preach this lifestyle onto others. Its one thing to engage in an intelligent conversation to better understand each other, but to be condescending to others that dont adhere to your food habits is plain out wrong. People like this are usually the ones that chose that lifestyle out of vanity, wanting a reason to put themselves up on a pedestal and hide other insecurities about themselves.

Since the days of hunters and gatherers, before written language and perhaps even speech, humans have been omnivores. We are at the top of the food chain, and thats how our bodys have developed over the millenia and thats the way it should be. But, to each his own for their own reasons. I would never begrudge anyone for their tastes in food.

meat is delicious and killing things for food is part of life sooo I really think vegetarians are annoying. salad won't fill you up the way a steak could

Actually, cannibalism offers little to none of the nutrients we need. So you would probably eventually starve anyway

Never heard of fruitarianism, so I guess I learned something new today. Either way, to each their own. I like to keep a little meat in my diet though.

I'm a vegetarian, for my own reasons and I disagree with those that tend to push this diet on others.

I chose this diet mainly because I've never liked meat. I don't like the taste and ironically enough I'm lactose intolerant. Although I admit, PETA and Paul McCartney may have also had a lot of influence in my decision as well.

Personally, people can do whatever they are, vegetarian don't eat meat, they can do whatever they want. If they are malnutrition, that's their problems.

One Thing I (loled) is when I hear someone said they're vegetarian but they can eat seafood, and I seem there are alot of them that does that too...I am like what the heck is wrong with them...

It may not be vegetarian but there are a lot of people who opt to do that considering how much healthier most seafood is, compared to poultry or red meats.
