I think shy guys are absolutely adorable, but is it possible that the whole "shy guy" impression is also somewhat of an illusion? Given the person and circumstances, once you start to build a relationship, they start to come out of their shell, right? And if they remain shy, what does that mean for the relationship? I mean wouldn't it be hard to maintain a relationship with someone who was shy? Regardless of whether you (the female) are shy or not, it doesn't sound like fun, but more of a pain. So I think it's the concept of a shy guy that's adorable, but that would get old after a while, especially when you begin to want more with that person. I think the allure of a "shy guy" fades, it's like the "honeymoon period" of a relationship.

I agree 100%.I mean, can you imagine getting married or something and you're still shy about kissing/holding hands? Or if you're trying for a child and you're still shy about the whole intercourse thing? Could you imagine being rejected every time you want to take the relationship to the next level 'cause the guy is just so darn shy? A shy couple would probably awkwardly sit and talk about nothing for hours, avoiding eye contact and stuttering their words. Could a relationship last years like that? It would be pretty annoying and inconvenient if the shy guy phase lasted throughout the entire relationship, it'd have to stop soon enough.

This may be okay for young couples for while but if you're still like that during your early to mid-twenties or thirties.. I think there's a problem. Maybe it would be better to have someone that's not afraid to say they love you or hug/kiss you in public (or do so even if they are shy) or have at least a bit of confidence instead of being too shy to do stuff that shows an expression of love, but at the same time, can show their partner a side to them others won't see.

I also think that being an anime site, some girls and guys here may be influenced by the 'cute' or 'perfect' characters they see in anime with all their moe-ness. Heck, I know people that think they are really a japanese person just because they believe the Japanese population are all insanely shy from what is portrayed in anime.

Any guy is adorable. As long as they're not an ass. I have met shy guys, whom I would later find to be no different than the average jerk.

I do find shy guys attractive but to an extent, after a while the whole shy appeal wears off . So to answer to the question, I find shy guys very attractive but I would also like them to have a bit more of a bold side as well.

hmm... Well, I'm shy myself, so if you put 2 shy people together we aren't going to do much.

So, I'm going to say maybe.

I'd say I fall more under the quiet category more than shy. But the girls I have dated normally did start with some form of friendship.

I don't think there's anything wrong with being friends as long as you make sure they know you're interested and don't let it carry on to being BFFs. Otherwise you'll just be tutoring yourself by going through a breakup without ever dating.
