I personally associate shyness as being a type of person who avoids others and finds it hard to make eye contact without becoming nervous.

You now what this is like me and i wouldnt say i am actually shy in a way as i know i can be confident i think its just i am afraid of everything leading up to that point or doing something and bieng stuck in that situation looking like an idiot and i can be romantic for my age when i want and also afraid to show how much of a gentleman and romantic in fear of being shunned for it with the way some people are now!

What about when love comes into the equation and then true love!
You are thinking about it in a more sexual way and wanting in a relationship and i will admit that some of what you say i do think is true!

Of course. More people for me to control.

Well luckily not all shy guys have such low self-esteem that they will allow themselves to be controlled.
I honestly hate females like that with a passion.

Same, its a shame how people take advantage of people with low self esteem.

Shy seems nice, considering I'm an introvert. I sometimes can't keep up with the extroverts, so it'd be nice to have somebody to match my pace.

It really depends on how far it affects him. There is a point when I would give up on a guy if he cowers away at the most important contact points of intimacy (moments of close sharing in general, not just in a sexual way).

I'm very introverted, but not at all shy, so there is a point when my patience for someone else's social issues in relating to me will peter out.

I find the attractive, but I also want them to talk to me and show me they like me if they do... I don't want to be confused, y'know? xD

Nyaa They are very kind and I hate to see them hurt socially or physically etc etc. So I've had my share of crushes on shy guys, but I'm a bit "too loud" my mum says for them to make teh first move. Not sure if that's right or not, but I don't care who makes the move, truly. They're very fun to be around and to talk to! =w= kuh-kuh-kuh! Just perfect, I say~! X3

Agreed, it depends on the degree of shyness/introversion. Someone can seem introverted and quiet when first meeting people, but may open up quickly once they get a feel for the existing group dynamics (assuming they're in a group.) I'm like this under most circumstances, and very open to listen or talk about damn near anything with those few I do allow to get in close - whether purely as friends, or romantic in nature. I don't necessarily find it difficult to trust people. It just takes a bit of time to get established, and it stays in place unless I'm given a reason to feel it's been broken.

One of my ex-girlfriends couldn't hold a conversation about anything other than anime or games - and with gaming, it had to be about the game we were playing together, at that moment. Might sound great to some guys, but it felt really shallow to me...like she didn't care enough to talk about any other interests she had, or to let me get to know her better (much less understand what might make her happy.) That level of social awkwardness was a major turnoff, and it ended rather abruptly.

Well, naturally a boy would start this thread. Shy boys are absolutely adorable; but that is just my own oppinion. Men who are all buff and love to show off are just idiots really

What's wrong with being buff?

Well you know... being all muscly and attractive is just... WRONG! I mean come on... wait.
