When I was younger, I loved being around fire. 'Cause I'd pretend to be a Firebender like Zuko. (ATLA). lol.
My grandpa and my parents always told me the phrase, "Don't play with fire or you'll wet the bed."
I obviously didn't believe it. Recently I've asked around and people have never heard of that before.
I wiki'ed it and it turns out it's a Japanese superstition which surprised me. The purpose was to make children aware of fire?

Have you ever heard of this or any other weird superstitions?

I always say "godspeed" to who ever's leaving the house.

I feel like if I don't, something bad will happen!

Now I imagined Zuko wetting his bed after a hard days work.... V_V

I'm a firefighter, and I don't practice any set religion, but whenever we arrive to a fire scene i mumble to myself "Keep us safe, and bless us well"
Not to anybody in particular, hell, I don't even know why I do it. I just kinda do, every time, without fail.

Aside from that, none I can currently think of

When I was a child, I used to avoid stepping on cracks out of fear of breaking my moms back. I also used to avoid counting to seven and stopping there, wearing hoods indoors, and opening umbrellas in houses.

I'm not superstitious. It brings bad luck =P.

Now seriously, I'm not superstitious. I've broken mirrors, opened umbrellas inside my house and I live with a cowardly black cat.

Pointing the kettle at someone means you want them dead.

Being a motorcyclist, earlier in my years, twice someone said "Be Careful!", before setting off on a ride, and both times I wrecked. So I started asking people to say "RIDE SAFE!". Many years later, I learned what most other motorcyclist bikers go by the same rule and courtesies for the same reason. I Still cringe every time someone says "Be Careful"....

When I was a kid, I would do voice overs for my barbie dolls. Most of the time it sounds like I'm doing some evil ritual, cuz when I play with dolls, the scenario is usually one of the dolls being possessed by an evil spirit. My parents were worried, so they told me not to talk to my dolls, or else they'll talk back. I ended up shutting my mouth and imagining what they were saying in my head.

Reminds me of silent hill >.> ,id like to see this turn into a movie : )

The term "bless you" when you sneeze originates from the 1700's when people believed that sneezing was the body's way of expelling demons. If someone sneezed and no one said "bless you" they would believe the person to be turned insane by the demon and the only treatment was to drill a hole in the skull to release the demon, and killing the person.

I normally am not superstitious but at work I never say slow, quiet, bored or anything related to the words because if they are said than we get really busy! I am a registered nurse working in an emergency room! The full moon also brings out the crazies worse than normal days!

If I don't drink caffeine each day, I simply CAN'T operate. However, so far this has proven to be true.

My mom is an endless source of superstitions. I think most of them were to keep my brothers and me in line.

Never accept a mirror as a gift unless you want evil energy to bounce on it and hit you.

Finish all your rice or the leftovers will result in pimples (e.g. five rice grains = five pimples).

Do not pick money off the ground because it is there for a reason and it might have bad energy.

Do not switch seats when you have already started eating. The amount of times you switch a seat is the amount of times you will get divorced.

I have this thing where I spray Febreeze on furniture and say "placebo" three times to make it feel clean, and it works.

Haha. Poor Zuko, he definitely will NEVER restore his honor now. xD.

Yeah, that's understandable. I have habits that are out of the ordinary and totally wouldn't fit my personality.
I myself, am religious although everyone has their own beliefs when it comes to certain things.
Eh, I guess people are just unique, ya know? :]
