I've never seen it, but I'm slowly chipping away at the crunchyroll library. I'll check it out after I finish Chihayafuru. (Which is awesome btw)

It's something that everyone should watch, though not everyone is going to like it. :)

I also like how a number of reviewers have gone back to play the original VN, now that the HD version is out. The interesting thing is how playing the game normally is... boring.

Yep, Makoto gets what he deserves. The other characters? Maybe not so much.

And of course, this is the series that originated: NICE BOAT! :)

nice boat? can you explain please?

Near the very end, one of the characters was lying in a boat caressing something inside a bag whispering sweet nothings to it and then it just showed the boat as it faded out to the next scene. I didn't say what was in the bag in case you haven't seen it and given the circumstances of the whole show and what happened a little bit before that point in time I think all the viewer can say is.... nice boat.

Hmm...I see. Thanks for not spoiling it, although I just finished the series right now, fuck its 3:42am over here in California and I have to go to work in a couple of hours. FML. Damn worth it though...

I can't say I agree with the ending as it was. Maybe another punishment was needed, but when Makoto Ito does what he does to everyone in the series then maybe he didn't "deserve it", but it's an ending that is a very real consequence of stupid actions.

haha, I remember that. There's actually 2 brutal endings to School Days, the true ending one they went with, and an alternate ending. Both end with a nice boat. haha.

Oh yeah, it was that. But what I referred to can also be used to an extent. But this is the real reason. My bad

Was it a fair punishment? No, but the expression "reap the whirlwind" comes to mind. I have to give credit to the anime production staff for not pulling punches on this, by going for a softer ending. In the game...

So, did he deserve it? He brought it on himself. There may have been unforeseen consequences to his choices, but that's life. Accepting the consequences for your actions is just a fact of life.

Agreed on all points. At least some small part of that ass hat got a ride on the "nice boat". It's ironic that Kotonoha is the only close character he doesn't nail.

School Days seems to be one of the more infamous anime series out there. I kept hearing about it in bits and pieces, and finally decided to just watch it so I could know what the fuss was all about. I don't regret doing so-- it's quite an interesting series, I think. One can sense the
building up, but perhaps the exact details are a surprise when they finally play out. I thought the ending rather extreme, and yet still believable given the characters and their make-up. To this day, Makoto, the male lead, continues to make it into lists of all-time hated characters! Now, that's a legacy!

Makoto is one of my FAVORITE characters!

Like any guy in his situation wouldn't be doing what he did!

I'm glad I read some reviews before I ever committed to try watching it. Since then I've had zero interest in this title. I'm leery of a 12 episode slice of life series to begin with (just way too short to be satisfactory), but there seems to have been some epic trolling going on with the direction they decided to take the story.

I personally thought this Anime could've been so so so SOOOOO much better then it turned out to be. First off the characters are bland, our male protagonist is a dick and never felt for him at all. And for it being a short series I felt like I was forcing myself to watch it most of the time. Why is this dude so likeable with the chicks? Does his dick drag the ground? lol

The only thing that even made me like it a little bit was the twist ending. When that happened it actually caught me by surprise and to me the last episode was the highlight of the whole series. It's just a shame that the characters couldn't have been more developed and the story could've been better other than the typical "OMG he doesn't like me" Bullshit. If the last episode was the like whole series then this one could've been memorable.

The ending was awesome. You all loved it I know you did.
One of the best endings ever in anime history, the main character was such a great character. He deserved what happened to him.
Sekai also deserved what happened to her. It's a nice day to know that someone out their knows how to get revenge.
