Yup. Steam removed the game within a day or so.

Read numerous articles by sites like Kotaku, Forbes, Gamespot, etc just completely trashing all over the creators on what they did.

The epic fail that is War Z is cracking me up this last week. They've even lost the rights to use the name because of trademark infringement with the upcoming World War Z movie who filed first.

Horrible development team in terms of public relations. Greedy as all hell and not subtle about it at all

From copying Day Z and shoving it in their face by naming the rip off so close to the original, to charging for revives

Game itself is ok minus the hacks

It feels like a water downed but more accessible version of Day Z

Zombies are easier to kill, weapons easier to find, etc.

This is basically how I feel about it. There are some folks who argue that they copyrighted the name prior to Day Z's release. Not really sure how valid that is, or how much copying they ultimately did to each other. Otherwise, Day Z is just scarier IMHO. I'm stoked for the standalone game. I will be playing the crap out of it.

I got into the beta and I have to say that the game is seriously unpolished and just plain bad.

And theres also the fact that they lied to consumers on the steam page (though it was taken down and fixed *I use the word fixed lightly*). It shouldnt be possible so i say avoid this game at all costs

the thing the WarZ did better than Dayz is that the game is optimized right. even on highend pc's dayz lags , which doesn't make much sense at all.
