For me, Obama gets my vote by default since Romney is a moron. I'm not particularly attatched to Obama. I just am very strongly against Romney. The guy changes his stance on things whenever there is a personal benefit for him. His economic "plan" is just more pandering with no specifics (Jobs are good! I'm going to make more jobs! Deficit is bad! I'm going to reduce it! Taxes are bad! I'm going to reduce it! etc, etc). In fact just off of his refusal to lay out the facts on his economic plan that would be enough for me to not vote for him. Only reasons to not disclose are that he in fact does not have a plan, or that what he has planned will not be looked upon positively by the public (like giving more tax breaks to people like himself).

As a Christian, I cannot vote for Romney. In principal, I have to vote for Obama to show my disapproval of him. I would rather have someone who pretends or doesn't hold every Christian value then a Mormon as president.

Not to stir up anything religious, but it makes no sense whatsoever for anyone who REALLY claims to be a real Christian to vote for Romney. Mormonism is one of the many anti-Christ doctrines that the Bible has warned about. The republican party has stated multiple times that you're not voting a president based on their religious beliefs, but thats not the issue.

Thats like saying you're not voting a president based on their belief that the moon is made of green cheese. Sure, what he believes the moon is made out has nothing to do with how to run a country. But it sure does tell me a lot about his intelligence.

And no, Mormonism is NOT a Christian religion.

Are you pro-Theocracy?

I had a discussion about this pretty in-depth with a guy here on base, a self-admitted bigot (but funny guy nonetheless), and I still can't grasp why religion seems to drive people's political decisions here. The same ones that are afraid of Romney's Mormonism are critical of so-called "Islamofascism" in Iran, but I'm not sure how people split hairs on this one.

Pro theocracy? No.

Its not the religion that drives a political decision. Its one person's ability to discern what is truth from what is falsehood. Yes, people are going to have disagreements, but religion isn't where disagreements don't make a difference. No religion is going to say that the disagreements is just pragmatism. There are fundamental and irreconcilable differences between Christianity and EVERY other religion out there (even the position that all religions are true).

When it comes down to the facts, which person would offend you the most?
1) The person does or possibly pretends to hold your same facts?
2) The person who admits they aren't committed to position?
or 3) The person who holds the position that are contrary to your facts?

For example, its a well known fact that 2+2=4

Person A says they hold the same position
Person B says they don't know the answer
Person C and D say the Answer is ANY other number except for 4 OR 4 and ANY other numbers as well

I'm not saying I don't have disagreements with the other side. I am against the legalized murder that happens here ("Abortion"), but I am aware that this issue is deeply rooted as an economic problem. Surveys say that most abortions are performed because of the immense financial responsibility. If it is my position that Abortion (at any stage) is murder then I need to be vocal about it to people I know. Even science studies agree with my position that killing babies in the womb is no different than killing babies that have already been born. I am ready to support anyone who wants to push to having Roe v Wade overturned. On this issue, I can change people's minds on abortion, but I cannot change their economic status unless I support economic policy that is friendlier to them.

Essentially, both parties offend me very much.
Romney's religion offends me
The economic and procedural policies of the republican party offend me
The stance of the democratic party on the social issues offend me

There isn't an adequate representation of my position in american politics.

Are you disputing?

First off, Article 8 contradicts the Bible. The Book of Mormon has been proven false by all archeology data, plagiarized chapters from the Bible, Has theology that contradicts the OT.
Article 10 is false under Christianity. There are 12 tribes of Israel. Its a false claim to say that there will be a "new Jerusalem" in america. It actually is in several different ways wrong about the End times.
Article 11 is also false. It is not possible to worship God in the ANY instance of how or what "they may".
Article 12 is also false. We are to obey the law of the land, but remain to our convictions. Any law that contradicts our beliefs, we are not under any obligation to to obey it, honor it, or sustain it.

Let me clarify Article 1 for you. This is a false trinitarian doctrine. Upon closer look at their theology, you'll find that they believe that Jesus and Lucifer were brothers, and that the "heavenly father" procreated with with of his Godess wife's.

To expand upon that, their theology claims that YOU ALSO can be a God of your own universe and that is how this God and Universe came into existence. This is polytheism. Goes against all Christian doctrine, and all Christian philosophy.

Let me clarify what a proper Christian trinitarian doctrine is.
The father, the son, and the holy spirit is 1 personal and PERFECT God. Not 3 different people or "Gods".
