for those that have lost faith in the art of the DJ due to those fake ass punks who just press play and pump their fists on stage. I'm talking to you girl talk and skrillex. Here you go :

Hell to the yeah. I saw him rock a show with peanut butter wolf for 2hrs using nothing but 45's. That's why I'm so sick of these EDM darlings who do everything in their bedroom then just press play once on stage and then charge for the show. I saw girl talk a few years ago and I swear he hit play once on his laptop and then stood on a table and pumped his fists for an hour. Not to mention he's making millions off other peoples works because he doesn't "technically" sell the albums. He just charges $30 plus for a seat to his "shows"...

I was getting pretty discouraged with the state of electronic music and hip hop in general until I went to Moogfest in October. Everything was live and mad dope and re-affirmed my love for the art of the electronic musician. EL-P, Sqaurepusher, Orbital, Four Tet, GZA, Killer Mike; they all killed it. There is still hope....

What about just make you own music and forget about all the shit?

Excellent point. With the tools available today and their ease of use there is no excuse for not trying to do your own shit, even if it's awful at least you tried...

Definitley, El-P is a dope producer, Info Kill II....

I don't get many shows in my neck of the woods not to mention under 18 one's... have to wait a few months so I can travel to London and see some. lol i know some of those people... luckily there's a close community in hip hop especially with a nexus of artists all diverse. I'm still wishing to see an Al'Tarba set when I visit Paris this year.

Of course there is always going to be bad music, but just look for the good stuff. Some bands still try, and have great music. If not, then listen to the old stuff if you like it more. I can still manage to find good bands out there, so I know it can be done.

For the most part I agree with you. I prefer the music of the 70's and 80's but I don't thinks its the musicians, I believe its the big record company's pushing what they think sells over what they think is good. But there are always exceptions like Hootie and the Blowfish in the 90's or Smash mouth, even though they where way over played for awhile, Maroon 5 is also pretty good. You should check out some of the Japanese bands such as Stereo Pony or listen to Rainbow by Alice Nine.

What makes music "good"? How is it that certain combinations of sounds and notes become something appealing? Being a robot, all of it sounds the same.

You can tell the difference by the way it makes you feel.

Why does it make you feel anything in the first place though?

Because everything is vibration.

The reason why you feel it is because emotions are vibrations. All of Creation is vibration therefore it is one whole song. Do you feel it? The song of Creation/Multiverse/God?

Nope I'm afraid. Being a robot stops me from doing all that spiritual stuff.
