ok i love music and dubstep, but i also love all other kinds of music, things like ac/dc, some ozzy, black sabbath, metallica ect (and the music of those eras still did have repeated lines).
well i love dubstep but i hate gandum style (however its spelled) i absolutely hate his music and his wapa-condom star song.
I agree with the guy who made this post in the fact that you have to kinda dig to find good music.

But in all honesty, its what you like, you can like whatever you wanna like, everyone has their own opinion and will listen what they want to, something that sounds crappy to you might be awesome to someone else and your "awesome music" might sound crappy to someone else too.

i like all kinds of music across all genres, but of course i like some genres more then other, like rock, heavy metal, dubstep, and techno are like my main 4, i got some rap here and there and maybe a pop song or two

- i do gotta say rap music can be ridiculous and annoying and very repetitive with all their drugs and sex, so yea you really have to dig to find some good ones unless all you wanna hear is songs about drugs and dropping it low. Thats all i gotta say, i think i said to much

I love how people like to critique music that they arent accustomed to and dont understand. If the music is so bad, why is it so popular? People love saying crap like "Music is not as good as it used to be" and that simply isnt true.

1.) If you dont like it dont listen to it because the artists couldnt care less about your opinion if its not your taste.

2.) Music isnt better or worse than it used to be, its just different. If youre a semi-intelligent adult human being, you should be able to accept that.

3.)Catchy hooks that are easy to remember are what have always topped the billboard charts so I dont see the problem with the song "Black and Yellow (referring to the Pittsburgh Steelers, since thats where Camron Thomaz is from). Also, Aubrey Graham didn't invent vibrato, its just part of his repertoire like other artists so I dont see an issue with the song "No Lie".

this is one of the worst arguments I've ever seen for defending a multi billion dollar BUSINESS that is the music INDUSTRY. That's all it is, find a girl or boy with sex appeal make them sing a few hooks with a terrible voice that needs to be auto tuned, dress the girls like sluts and make them perform in music video's with blatantly satanic symbolism and spend millions on marketing and you have a hit! Saying "if the music is so bad, why is it so popular?" is facile, the masses are ignorant and couldn't care less about aesthetics are musical quality, people just follow each other like sheep and still think they're unique. music isn't an art form in the mainstream neither is it a tool for expression, none of them even know how to play an instrument or sing nicely how can you say it's just "different". I at least think these "music artists" should be more responsible with their younger audiences, they're highly impressionable.

Im not defending the music industry. Im defending the hip hop, rap, and R&B genres.

Dude, thats all its ever been and as far as the "satanic" symbolism, you do realize that directors create the music videos and not the artist right? So a lot of this satanic crap you claim to see is from the influence of the directors.

music isn't an art form in the mainstream neither is it a tool for expression, none of them even know how to play an instrument or sing nicely how can you say it's just "different".

Thats just your hipster opinion. Also, you have no clue what artists actually know how to play an instrument. You're just forming an opinion based off of ignorance. Kinda like the ignorant masses you were describing.

Bottom line. It sounds like you dont know much about the music industry or music overall for you to sit there and make your biased and blatantly ignorant assessment. Also, the artists aren't the fans parents. They dont have to be responsible for younger audiences, especially since the younger audiences arent allowed to buy music with explicit content. The responsibility lies with the parents who allow their children to buy music with explicit content.

Wtf are you talking about? you know nothing about me, stop with the personals. Not even going to bother arguing with a fool that throws up gang sings in his avatar. Take it as a hint that you're the only person with the opinion that theirs nothing wrong with hip hop, rap and r & b and fyi hip hop isn't a genre it's a culture.

Thank you! Hip Hop is not a genre of music it's a culture.: The five elements of Hip Hop are: 1. Bboying 2. MCing 3. Graffiti 4. DJing 5. Knowledge... In the immortal words of KRS one. "Rap is something we do Hip Hop is something we live".

I'm listening to Free Mumia right now... And all together those elements = <3 I'm desperate to start graffiti some time.

The 90's were the low point, 80's rocked. As for now, a lot of it's a bit dull, but if you look into the rock/metal bands you can find some good stuff. Just avoid rap and hip/hop and I guess most of the pop charts.

What are talking about? The early 90's were part of the golden age of hip hop. Then in the late 90's underground came along redefined hip hop (Company Flow, Deltron 3030, Jurrasic 5, Dr Octagon) I could go on and on. That's just one genre of music. The 90's also produced some of the best electronic music of all time. The good stuff is still out there you just gotta know what you're doing. I agree through avoid "pop" hip hop. that shit is garbage, but you can't front on EL-P, Edan, or Aesop Rock... ASAP Rocky is a different story...

Just because you think im the only person with the opinion that I have doesnt mean that its true and even if it is true, im not going to change my opinion to win some popularity contest.

And hip hop is in fact, a music genre. It is also a culture but it is VERY MUCH a genre.

I never claimed to know anything about you. Youre the one who claims to know that none of them know how to play an instrument or sing. You must have forgotten what you typed earlier.

As far as the whole "fool that throws up gang signs" comment goes, im just going to laugh at that one...

Not sure how '21st century music' is any worse than '20th century music', or '19th century music'. It may be because it is new, which is why it is so unfavourably compared to the past, the quanity is not greater (the Operas of Meyerbeer, now deemed mediocre at best, dominated the stage, while others, like Berlioz' Fautus, which is now held in high regard, were booed and jeered), Berlioz, for his time, was absolutely reviled by the Critics, if his own account is accurate, and Rameau was disparaged by both those who favoured Lully, as well as those that favoured Italian Operas, and the Beatles were denounced as Satanists when they came to America.

Agreed! In 10 - 15 years all the kids will be saying "Music sucks now. I like the music from 2010" in their best music snob voices. Some people just love to look at things in the past as better than the current.

Too much use of auto tune. Every artist used to have their own unique style, but they all sound the same now a days.

I don't really like the songs on the radio these days, sometimes i feel like carry around a cross to banish these not so great songs.
In conclusion, i'm going to listen to Japanese and Korean music instead.

My goodness, I absolutely despise most of what people listen to these days. All the auto-tune, lack of singing talent, and meaningless lyrics just drives me crazy. Most of the music today seems loud and it just makes my head hurt not only because it's annoying but because it's just too loud and bad.

Some kids these days say that Lil' Wayne, LMFAO, and Justin Bieber are the best. <- Wow. Might as well not have kids, I don't want them growing up with this kind of generation.

Of course, there's good music still being made today and I acknowledge that, but most of my criticism is directed toward the loud party/club type music that is being produced today.
