I'm more disturbed over the fact that people are so stupid that they think the stuff they hear on the radio is all the music this world has to offer.

Ok, I think that was a bit harsh... What I meant was that in order for you find "good" music, you need to get rid of your narrow-mindedness first.

It might've been a bit harsh, but that doesn't make it any less true.

When I see people complaining about the "quality" of music "now'a'days" I always wonder which music they're referring to.. I mean, they can't possibly think that Justin Bieber/*Name of choice* is the only artist and that this genre is the only genre right.. ?

It's not like there's an near infinite amount of different people out there making vastly different music in every genre that has ever existed.. Or that new sounds or new types of music are constantly being created by millions of people world wide.. Nah, I'm sure I'm just imagining that part.. Obviously only 10 people in this world are capable of creating music, and they all do it with sole purpouse of creating music that we dislike and forcing us to listen to it.

And let's not even get into the possibilities of people having different tastes, obviously only *him* and *her* are good and everything else is of poor quality. (I prefer my nostalgia with a bit of cheese).

/End sarcasm.

TL;DR: What she said.

Most if not all music I listen to now comes from games like Portal or YouTube lyricist like TryHardNinja and SlamaCow so yeah... it's been a bit of a step back it the terms of quality mainstream music in the last 10 years for sure but I'm not complaining, I use noise cancellation stereophones.

Hey, all you got to do is walk in the right direction to find good music.

And you know, there's no account for taste.

Mainstream radio is largely put together by corporate entities, including the bands themselves. The lyrics are watered down and generic to make sure that it applies and is understood by everybody. Highly sexualized, machine processed, and mass-produced in order to reach the masses.

Whatever you like is fine, but I think people should feel insulted by how much music condescends the audience.

Well sure there is bad music out there but it's up to the people to decide whether it's just music or life messages. Not every song you listen too is giving you lifestyle choices some of them have good beats that is all. Don't hate other people for the music they decide to listen to if it's not hurting you then it's no problem. If you're wondering what type of music i like punk rock, some old rock, a bit of metal, post rock, rap rock random old songs and instrumental.

Like someone said ever generation has bad music and good music.. and I'm young... and I can't remember who said this to me but "Every generation seems to think their generation was the worst for music"
Either way.. to each their own (Although I personally prefer 1960s-2000s music)

Ever since music started there has been good and bad music, so people saying that music these days suck are very ignorant because there will always be good and bad music and there always have been, no matter what year it was or will be.

I agree. I hate all these new R and B, raps, and all these stupid love songs. Is that all people can sing? 'I love you' 'be with me' 'i have the money to love'.

I stick with music like trance/techno, songs from RPG/JRPG games, rock music (some) and japanese music.

It is not the artists ' fault that they make shitty music, it is the PEOPLE who buy their music so they keep making more shitty shit because they know it will sell and they just care for money.

POP music died with Michael Jackson in the 90s (his recent music wasn't good) and the 80s & 90s were more about rock, punk, metal and all that good jazz..Now we have the disgrace of having justin beiber, miley cirus, ketty perry, lady gaga etc...but I just ignore them and listen to the good music because there are good artists but they don't get much publicity.
