Vyse had finally reached the top of the stairs. He was running late but at least he had made it. He paused for a minute to catch he breath before straightening his outfit. He thought he looked rather dashing in his crimson suit (double breasted, of course). Underneath he wore a plain white shirt and a black tie, and from his breast pocket sprouted a white pocket square. To finish it all off, he had found white gloves and dress shoes, which were polished to a shine. He stood up straight with a huff, satisfied with his attire, before opening his menu and producing two presents. Both were wrapped in a shiny wrapping paper, but the one he had bought for a particular person had a big gold bow on it.

Now Vyse liked to make a bit of an entrance, and keeping with his tradition of being a bit of a clown at parties (he thought back to his song and dance in the bar at their last party), he planted his foot on the door and kicked it open. The heavy wooden door swung open with a bang, and Vyse strolled in with a big smile on his face, singing at the top of his lungs. "It's beginning to look a lot like christmas!" he bellowed, still beaming at the familiar faces that had all turned to look at him. The conversations seemed to stop, and the room fell quiet as he looked around, searching for the person whom he had bought a present for. He found her sitting down in a rather large armchair in the corner of the room, her azure hair framing her face perfectly.

When he reached her, he bowed and extended his present to her. Slightly embarrassed, he continued to look at the floor until she took the gift. The box was wide and flat, and inside contained something he hoped she would like, and remember.

Black saw the new guy barge in on Nick while he was talking to the woman. Somewhat disappointed in his manners he went and talked quickly with Nick, mainly just wondering if he was interested in any woman in the group. After he noticed that the new guy had separated Asuna from group he grudgingly acknowledged that at least he had some skill in trying to pick up women. Although if that was a good thing was yet to be seen. Seeing both Yuuki and Noiki talking in a small group he approached them both.

"Hello, my name is Black, and I use dual wielded daggers, what is your name?" he asked Noiki. Just as he finished talking an idiot banged the door open signing a xmas carol at the top of his lungs. Black had to resist running over to the man and throwing him back down the hallway. Of all the times the idiot needed to barge in and satisfy his own ego....

Black sighed loud enough that he heard people two floors down could have heard him. Looking back at Noiki he tried to get a read on her reaction to the new event. Seeing the new idiot make a bee line for Yuuki the only thing he could think of was, that this idiot was not just dumb... but insane. He must of had a courage the size of a boss to move in on a woman that wolf had pretty clearly laid his eyes on. Oh well, it was his funeral, although secretly he kind of a respect for him as well.

He knew Noiki name from the recent talk and having over heard it here and there but he hadn't been formally introduced. He knew that Yuuki and Wolf were kind of an item but he couldn't deny being somewhat interested in the new developments, and if Noiki had laid any eyes on anyone yet. He didn't want to get in the way of anyone else but he had to admit that he was being a bit nosey. If she was interested in someone it would be bad politics to give her a gift instead of someone else. Anyway as he waited for her reaction to his opening he started to get more and more nervous.

"That should do," Wolf said, clapping his hands in a way that was like he was cleaning them. "Teenagers are still teenagers no matter where you go." Wolf had just finished carrying three teenage girls up four flights of stairs because they had consumed something they shouldn't have and caused trouble on the third floor. He had one girl in each arm and one on his back, he wasn't going to make multiple trips. Once he got to the seventh floor he opened the door to the hallway and noticed the elevator. "Oh my Haruhi," he thought as he remembered how dumb he is.

By this time his shirt was untucked and he booked it to the 15th floor, knowing it would be faster than waiting for a, non packed, elevator. He was silently sprinting down the hall as he noticed Vyse kick open the door and begin singing. Wolf followed close behind and appeared in the door way after Vyse had finished walking. "Sorry I'm late guys," he said as he scratched the back of his head. He began to walk forward but his elbow hit the top of the door frame very hard and a purple hexagon appeared before him telling him it was an immortal object.

Wolf followed far behind Vyse and seemed like no one else saw him but he truly doubted he went unseen. "You beat me to it." Wolf had run his fingers down to open up his inventory to take out five presents, one of which was for the raffle. "After I got the first one, the rest just flowed into my inventory," his speech now directed towards the blue haired maiden.

"Alright everyone," Wolf said pressing a button on his screen that would tuck in his thin white button up that was placed rather wrinkly under his red crooked tie. He had black work pants and a red Christmas hat on to fit the fact that he didn't know how to dress himself. "If everyone is here that is going to be here, we will begin the raffle, [OCC:Everybody send me a private message with a number 1-how many people put one in, and I'll tell you who you got the random gift from]"

Wolf pointed to the DJ to crank up the tunes a bit to the more upbeat ones and ushered the caterers to bring out the entrees. "We open the presents right after the raffle is done. [OCC:Private message the item to the recipient][I don't know how else we should do it :p ]

Noiki blabbed on to Yuuki, going from topic to topic without much of a transition. Yuuki just kept saying yes and no politely, until finally she seemed to pass out and sit down in a large armchair. Noiki looked down at her suddenly, a mix of surprise and embarrassment on her face. She never fathomed that her rants could cause people to be emotionally and physically exhausted to the point of needing to fall asleep. Noiki patted Yuuki on the head softly, and turned to walk away.

She saw that finally Amon had showed up. He sat down at a table by himself. Noiki thought he looked depressed, which is a horrible thing to be, especially on Christmas. He definitely needed more happiness. And after all he'd done for her, the least she could do was to go over and cheer him up. Noiki began walking towards him until suddenly Vyse burst in through the doors. He began to sing and handed the tired form of Yuuki a present. Noiki raised an eyebrow. She thought that Vyse must have guts of steel to move in of Wolf's girl. This did not look like it'd end happy. Noiki hated love triangles. she laughed a little at the sight of them, and decided to stay out of that mess for the time being, and tuned away from them again to talk to Amon.

But when she turned, she found herself face-to-face with Black, He looked nervous out of his mind.

"Hello, my name is Black, and I use dual wielded daggers, what is your name?" he asked. Being nervous when he was only asking for her name? Noiki knew that that could only mean one think. Her cheeks reddened considerably but she smiled as happily as she could anyway.

"Noiki. I use a two-handed sword," she told him. "I didn't see you at the boss battle. Wolf almost died! It was pretty scary. Maybe having you around next time will help things go smoother. We'll just have to see. Nice to meeting you though, and merry Christmas!" Noiki was about to turn away, but at the last minute she said, "Also, you don't have to be so nervous. It's Christmas, right?"

Finally, finally Noiki reached Amon. He was still looking depressed, and didn't seem to even notice anything that was going on. She sat across from him and put a hand on his head. "Hey, Amon! Merry Christmas. It's almost a new year! I can't believe how fast this year's gone, can you?" she asked, smiling brightly at him.

Black was stunned, he had no idea of Wolf almost dying, but on the other hand the new girl had probably not heard of his previous boss fights. The talkk had gone well enough he supposed, he hated talking to new people, and was naturally nervous at party's but she had at least not told him to piss off like his wife had the first time they had talked. The last comment "also you don't have to be so nervous, it's christmas, right?" had been somewhat funny but then she had almost ran away to talk to Amon. Oh well he thought, such is life as he walked to the window and saw pretty snow falling to the ground. The whole floor was snow colored and almost solid white. Staring out into the expanse his body was at the party, but his mind wandered the previous floors and all that had happened since he had come here.

Most of the players had arrived and the raffle was underway.
Nick was still contemplating on whom to hand his present to.
But then it hit him. Sure, why not. It's not weird giving her a present? Right? Nick was always bad with women,
when they talked to him it was like his brain had shut down on him, and this place, SAO was no different.
Come on nick, get a grip. He thought at the bar.

He mustered up all the courage he had and went for it.
Her red and white dress made her stand out but her red hair made her stood out even more, not in a bad way.
She was talking and smiling at amon.

Nick approached her and said "Sorry to disturb you, noiki." He started.
He materialised his present and said "Even tough you haven't been a part of our group as long as some..." He waited a couple of seconds to think about his next words. "But the group won't be the same without you, so i hope you'll be a part of it until the end"
He handed her the present. "Merry christmas noiki" Nick said and smiled, hoping she would appreciate the gesture.

Amon felt something touch his head and heard a familiar voice. "Oh, hey Noiki." Amon said softly. Amon made sure to hide his flask, he didn't want her to see it and he figured he would get an earful if she saw it. "I don't know why the holidays are so important." Amon said looking away. "I'm not saying bah humbug but I guess you kinda lose your Christmas spirit if you have never really celebrated a real Christmas with friends or family before."

Amon got up and started to walk towards the food table when he saw Nock approach the table and give Noiki a gift. There wasn't anything too bad on the table. Mostly finger foods and Christmas themed cookies. There was no punch bowl but next to the table three was a cooler with water and a decent selection of sodas but Amon wasn't interested. Amon looked back at Noiki who had followed him and she looked very sad. "Don't let me ruin your mood." Amon said with a grin, "I just don't have any holiday spirit." Then Amon whispered to himself and his eyes shot to the ground, "kind of hard too when you have no family left. Then Amon started to walk towards the door to leave but then he remembered his present. "Almost forgot, here." Amon said as he fished out his present he had made for Noiki. "I don't have any money to buy you something nice, so I made you something instead." Inside the box was a ring with a bright red stone in it that perfectly matched the color or Noiki's hair. "It gives a decent amount of strength and I even put a hold on its name so you could name it instead. Then Amon started walking along the giant windows looking out into the snow.

Noiki stood there silently after thanking Nick warmly, watching Amon as he stared out the windows. It really was a beautiful Christmas, and it was a shame that he wasn't celebrating it. She understood the part about not having any family left. Nyami's absence pained her heart, and left a heavy shadow on the part of her mind where the memories of their past were stored. But as she found this team, she found new hope and a sense that she wasn't alone anymore. She'd stopped her months of moping around on the fifth floor and had started with the typical SAO action again... The players on this team felt as much like a family as her real one had. Her parents had died years ago, when an epidemic had spread to their small town. They had both been frail in the first place, and died after only four days of catching the disease. From that point on, Noiki strove to fulfill all of Nyami and her own needs. They'd spent four years in an orphanage, until Noiki turned eighteen and could bring Nyami with her to collage. That was only a few months before SAO.. Everything had fallen, and then fallen even further when it was seeming to rise again.

She looked down at the two things that Nick and Amon had given her. They looked almost as if they were a pair. It made her even happier that people cared about her, no matter who they were. She put them away, and walked up to Amon, who's face hadn't turned from the window. She thought about what to say to him. She was never good at these things, though she had once talked one of her high school professors out of suicide. But that had taken three hours, and was completely irrelevant to the task at hand. Noiki took a deep breath.

"Now, I'm really awful at making people feel better, so don't count on this working," she said boldly, then looked to the ground. "In fact, I don't know if you'll feel worse after I tell you this. But, I know how you feel about not having a family anymore.. Nyami was the last person alive that was related to me. It puts a dark cloud over your head that stays there forever, but it's not always that bad."

'Crap,' she thought, wanting to smack her hand against her face. 'I'm totally blowing this.'

"Think about it. Some days, it's so awful that you feel like... You feel like you just want it all to end. But then there's other days where a raincloud turns into some fog. And you look around, and see that you're not alone, and that other people are going through exactly what you are. And people can connect with you, and make it feel like life isn't all bad after all. Finding all you guys... sorta made me realize that."

All that was going through Noiki's head was, 'I'm being so sappy,' but she guessed that what had to be done, had to be done.

"And, I mean, you don't even know what it was like for me before you guys showed up," she said, laughing a little. "I just sat around in a hotel room all day, only leaving to eat. I literally wanted to kill myself. But now, I don't. I just want to get this over with an go home, like everyone else."

Amon stood and looked at out the windows at the snow outside. It looked beautiful to Amon since this was his first time. Noiki walked over next to Amon and she tried with all her heart to cheer Amon up. It turns out that she had all of the same troubles. As she continued on with her story Amon started to form a smile on his face. He even chuckled a little when she smacked herself in the face. "If she can do it, then maybe... Just maybe... So can I." Amon thought as she finished. "Your right." Amon said in a whisper. "What's in the past is in the past and I shouldn't let that stop me." Amon was beaming at this point. Amon looked over at Noiki, smiled, thanked her, then handed her the flask he had Ben hiding in his jacket pocket. "You can have it if you want." Then Amon walked over to Wolf to say hi.

Galen listened to Asuna as she described her past Christmases. She told him how it was the one time her father was actually home, and that her parents could focus on her and not her education. She seems happy, he smiled. Galen remembered his past Christmases. It was a wonderful time...when his parents, brother, and grandfather would all be home for a few weeks, spending quality time together. His grandfather had always dressed up as Santa Claus on Christmas Eve, packing presents under the tree, and even dressing up his dog, Brutus, as one of his reindeer. Galen couldn't stop laughing inside at the thought of his Grandfather twisting his fake beard on Christmas Eve saying, "Hmm...I wonder who will get something nice this year". But of course Grandfather passed away a few years ago...thought Galen.

Galen opened his mouth, about to tell Asuna everything about his past Christmases and about his Grandfather when out of nowhere, the doors were kicked down. Galen, Asuna, and everyone else in the party looked in the direction of the open doors to see Vyse, beaming from ear to ear, singing(off key I might add) "Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas". He continued to do this as he found Yuuki resting in the armchair, who woke up to Vyse on one knee, extending his gift like it was some kind of proposal. That cheeky bastard. thought Galen. Wolf is going to kill him. Then, standing in the open doorway, was Wolf! Its like my thoughts just summoned him?! pondered Galen.

"Sorry I'm late guys" said Wolf as he entered the suite. He then saw Vyse on one knee with his gift, and grinned, pulling out 5 gifts from his inventory as he looked at Yuuki with a smile.

"Alright everyone" said Wolf addressing the group. "If everyone is here that is going to be here, we will begin with the raffle". Wolf then proceeded to start the party by asking the DJ to turn up the music, and ushering in the entrees to the serving tables. "We open up the presents right after the raffle is done".

Galen was glad that just about everyone had arrived and that the party was actually starting now.

Galen smiled at Asuna before saying, "Well, there goes Wolf. Always having to make an entrance. I wonder what we will get in the raffle?"

Before Galen could talk about his past Christmases back at home, a few others entered into the scene. It was amusing seeing the girls receiving the most gifts from the other male players. I guess guys aren't the type gifts to each other. Asuna thought to herself. She understood that it was difficult for guys to know what to get for a girl. If she did have a normal group of friends at school, they would perhaps do activities like secret santa or gift exchange. However she was not that close to many other people because of her shy nature and how other girls harbored a deep resentment for Asuna. Because of her looks, she was always attracting attention from boys, making the other girls look upon her negatively.

Ever since Wolf arrived, the party officially began. The DJ began playing music and caterers came to serve the food. Asuna did not have an appetite right now so she did not go after the food. Right now it everybody looked like they were mingling and trying to get to know each other more. She was wondering who would get her gift for the raffle and who she would get a gift from.

"At least the raffle assures everybody will get a gift." Asuna said. "What were you going to say before the doors got kicked open?"

The sun was far down now and the streets filled with lights as the snow blanketed everything in sight. People here and there were enjoying each other's company and some a few plates of food. By this time, Wolf was ready for the gift opening event. He stood by the table where all the raffle gifts were placed and grabbed everyone's attention.

"It's time to open gifts as soon as we finish up with dividing these presents." Wolf picked up a present placed on the table and lifted his hand to open up his menu. In his menu option he went under widgets and random selector. This application was designed to create a list of names and randomly select one, eliminating it off of the list after that.

Name after name popped up and Wolf called everyone up one at a time to receive their raffle presents. Last, but not least was Wolf who hadn't put his name on the list. "Alright, whoever want to go first," Wolf said as everyone looked at each other. The night was practically over but the fun had only just begun.

Black stared out the window, looking at the snow out the window, but seeing a place far far away. It was a cottage in his home town in Canada. The snow was coming down lightly, a lot like today, and him and his wife had stayed up for hours laying on a couch just talking. They had talked and talked, about anything and everything. They had talked about children, about family, about their past and their future. They had just shared the moment, the world around them ending in snow and darkness. The only light they had had was a fireplace that he had lit earlier. The blanket that they laid in had been a wedding gift from his best man. He had given it to him with a wink saying that he had made sure it was just big enough to fit two people in but just barely. He missed his wife, the faint smell of her hair that always seemed to be there, the ever present smile on her face, and the warmness of her touch. He had truly loved her, and she had loved him. Though he flew aircraft and was away from his home often whenever he came home she had always welcomed him with wide arms eager to hear of all of his stories. That night they had talked about all that they had done together, and had decided that they both wanted to start a family. She had told him that no matter what, she wanted to live, and die with him by her side. But if she would pass on she wanted something of their love to last and to continue the legacy that they had. She had joked that she was too pretty to die without a child, and that someone had to be home to take care of her while he was away flying. Those jokes and that life was gone now.

He would not get any of that anymore. The distinctive smell she had was forever gone from the world, the smile would never again grace those close enough to see it, and the warmth he had felt would forever be cold. He was alone, so very alone. The anger had started to subside, and now the only thing left was a blackness that he had never felt before, but somehow knew would forever be there. The most faithful companion he would ever have, but always present to remind him of his loss, and his part in the death of his wife. The snow reminded him of that, she had loved Christmas. It was her favorite time of year, and yet she would never live to see another one. He had never been a fan of Christmas but the constant reminder of what he lost was like someone poking a fresh wound and him unable to stop it. The blackness threatened to overwhelm him, and would have had it not been for the new objectives that he had set. The front liners were not his family but they were almost as important. They were to ones that would eventually free everyone from this prison with no bars. He had chosen to protect them, both with information, and with his body. His wife had died because he had been unable to save her, and unwilling to die in the effort. This shamed him to a degree nothing else had to this point and so he had made the decision that his life needed to be in service of those who would be responsible for the rest, and if his death was required for that reason then so be it. He had resigned himself to death a long time ago. He felt at peace knowing that if he died, it would be far away from these people, but yet still in their defence. The laughing coffin had tried twice to take out people trying to get to the front line and Black had stopped them. He knew that eventually he would fail but until then, he had to try and make up for his failure to his wife, his failure to her family, his failure to their unborn child. His mind returned to the group and their actions. The party seemed to be in full swing. He took out a piece of paper and it told him which gift he was supposed to get. He went to the table and took his present. Opening it up it was a set of beautiful cookies, that smelled delicious. Taking one out he bit into them and they were absolutely amazing. Some of the best he had ever had. He thought he had an idea who had made them, but also knew that she was busy so he sent just a simple message to her.

Thank you

That was all he could write, and with that he knew that this party was enough. Tears were forming on the corners of his eyes as he knew that his death would eventually be needed for these people, and that the more they got attached to him, the more they might care. With this he slowly slinked out of the room and walked down the stairs. He barely got out the door when his tears started to flow freely down his face. All strength left his legs and he had to lean on the side of the building just to try and stay standing up. Some players who were passing noticed him there but made no move to help him as he just stood there, tears and snowdrops running down his face in equal measure. Finally managing to draw some strength he started to eat the cookies that a nice woman had made for him, and walked towards the combat area. He needed to be alone, to grieve, to self loathe, to kill something, or to die. The pain in his chest increasing as he stepped away from those that had once called him friends and slinked into the night, the only trace of his passing were foot prints in the snow, and the traces of his tears. The wind softly blowing snow and covering his footprints, but his tears were not so easy to hide.

Amon had started to feel better after his talk with Noiki and he was starting to catch the Christmas spirit, something he never thought he would do. Amon realized that just because he didn't have a family didn't mean he couldn't celebrate Christmas, he had a great group of friends with him, maybe even a virtual family. As Amon walked over to receive the present from the stage he noticed that everybody was enjoying themselves. Amon walked and got his present, it was a message recorder in the shape of a diamond. Amon had never seen one before and it looked pretty expensive. Amon thanked his gift giver then he saw Black heading for the exit. Amon thought he was the only one who was depressed during the holidays, so he went over to see what was the matter. Black was moving pretty fast for somebody who looked like they were thinking of the worst. When Amon made it downstairs he saw that Black had left the building, Amon frantically looked for anything he could find fearing the worst for Black. Amon saw some fresh footprints in the snow and ran after them eventually running into Black, literally. Amon couldn't see very well even in the light snow and tackled Black to the ground. Black looked like he just wanted to sit in the snow and die but Amon wasn't going to let that happen. Amon hefted Black over his should and brought him back up the stairs to the party with no struggle at all. Amon sat Black down in a chair and tried to talk as soothingly as possible, which was kind of hard due to his mere size. "What the hell were you doing?"

Amon looked happier. At least, compared to what he was before. He gave her a flask of alcohol, which she promptly threw away. No need for that. Everything looked like it'd be fine. Wolf finally came in, and told the DJ to crank it up. She was about to walk over to Asuna and wish her a merry Christmas, when suddenly Black burst out of the room. Amon looked around, startled for a second, and then dashed after him. Noiki just stared after them, wide-eyed. Were they playing tag or something?

She walked closer to the door and peered outside. The two of them were nowhere in sight. She sighed, assuming that they were just having fun, and turned back away from the door.

The instant she turned away, Amon burst back in with Black on his shoulders and nearly ran her over. Noiki fell aside, her heart stopping momentarily. She panted in surprise and hoisted herself off the ground. "Nice jumpscare, guys," she remarked. Amon sat Black down in a chair and started talking to him. Noiki saw that Black was crying, and almost rolled her eyes. 'Who are all these people?' she asked herself, going over to the cooler and fishing out a Fanta. 'Remembering all of their worst nightmares on Christmas?'

She felt bad for them, but told herself that everyones' happiness was not her personal problem. She couldn't be expected to talk everybody out of suicide. Sometimes, other people have to. She looked around, and saw that everyone else seemed fine. Hopefully Yuuki wouldn't break down in tears. She was the person who seemed most likely to. Noiki sighed, leaned against a window, and sipped from her Fanta. Christmas wasn't supposed to be about problems. She stared out the window at the snow, which was falling faster and more heavily by the second.
