Amon had just given his speech and was feeling really good about it. Everybody seemed to have liked it and everybody cheered when he was finished. Amon let out a small sigh after he got off the stage and finished his fanta. Public speaking wasn't really his strong point in the real world, let alone when there were cute girls present. Amon hadn't really planned in making too many friends in SAO in the first place and now he has nine. The funniest part to Amon was that half of them were girls. As an engineer Amon rarely saw girls ever, since it was a very male dominated profession. Amon had maybe had a total of maybe four or five girls who he was friends with in his entire life, none of which were from college.

Amon thought it would be a good idea, to have some other kind of event before the night ended and he was not disappointed. Amon was headed over to talk to Noiki but then he saw Black trying to sneak out again. Amon was about to charge him and bring him back but something strange happened. Black told everybody that "By the way wolf, this gift is for you to help bring back some lovely memories, and before everyone gets upset. You might want to remember that this originally came from Wolf." Everybody was looking around wondering what was going on then he heard a small tick in the middle of the room. As soon as Amon looked to where it was coming from something from the middle of the room opened and out came something nobody should ever experience. A fart ripped by none other than Wolf Gilgamesh, a particularly bad one at that. Amon took one whiff and his eyes started to water. Black had gotten away and Nick had already jumped out of the window. Galen led Asuna out of the room by her hand but Amon had a quicker idea.

Amon rushed towards Noiki who hadn't started running away yet. Amon shifted his right shoulder down as if to tackle Noiki but brought his arms forward and scooped her up, one arm on her back and the other behind her knees and dove straight through the open window. Amon couldn't see the ground so he put himself between Noiki and the ground and landed back first into the foot of snow. Amon had completely forgot that he was in a safe zone and couldn't be hurt by any means.

Asuna was very glad to see that Galen truly enjoyed his gifts. She had a hard time deciding what else to get him other than the cupcakes. Half the cupcakes were chocolate and the other half were strawberry flavored. Just before the party she went to some stores to try and find another gift. The dragon necklace was the first thing that caught her attention. She was aware that Galen was really into dragons and decided that he would like any dragon gift. She was surprised when Galen came close to her for a hug. Asuna gently hugged him back and then let go. She stored her Lancelot model in her inventory when Amon made his toast. The toast was very amusing and so she raised her glass, toasting with everybody as well. Thank goodness there was no alcohol served this time.

Suddenly an odd smell pervaded the air. Everybody's immediate response seemed to be to escape the room as quickly as possible. Galen grabbed her hand and lead her out the room. Once they were out the room, Asuna was glad to be in a place where the air was fresh. At least in the world of SAO, players could survive without needing to breathe at all.

"You okay?" Galen asked her.

Asuna nods, relieved to be alright. "Yeah I am, thanks for getting me out of there."

Wolf took his usual power stance. Feet properly placed, hands on his hips, and a maniacal, triumphant laugh about to be produced. All of that until he reached the point where even HE couldn't bear the smell. Being bottled up in digital form made the smell even stronger than it used to be. He applauded science at its advancement to be able to replicate such a thing into a game.

Soon the room was empty, at least almost empty, Yuuki had yet to leave and to keep things in their proper order, he grabbed her hand and headed for the broken window. A small icon appeared at the bottom right section of the window and it looked to be about to repair itself. Immortal objects are placed so the world could look the same way for all of eternity but Wolf figured breakable objects like this had to repair itself to maintain stature.

Wolf jumped out with Yuuki just in time. Wolf looked behind himas he was falling and noticed the room was empty. He then forced Yuuki into his arms the same way Amon did but instead of landing on his back, Wolf landed on his feet, creating a crater from the pressure as he displaced the snow.

They made it out alive, in a way, but even though all was looking great, the road ahead is going to be a tough one.

Black saw everybody running down the stairs and jumping out of the windows. Seeing the expressions on their faces made the inevitable beating he would take later totally worth it. He had not played a prank that on people for a very long time but thought it was pretty well thought out. He was certainly impressed with his skills and had a stupid grin on his face as he approached the group of people. Some of them seemed to be gasping for air and saying light curses but it seemed like most of them knew it was all in good fun. he then approached Wolf and thanked him for supplying the odor for his wonderful gift.

"Thanks for helping me with my gift to everyone, didn't know who to give mine too so decided I should get something everyone could enjoy, or in this case, not enjoy."

His grin went even wider as he glanced around and tried to act like nothing had happened, the urge to crack a giant smile getting stronger by the second.

Asuna had expressed her thanks for Galen getting them out of the suite.

"You're welcome" laughed Galen. "I'm just glad we are in a safe zone, and that wasn't a trap. I mean I know that Black was playing a prank, but if we were in the combat zone and he wasn't around...it could have been poison, smoke, anything. Ah, well. At least we don't have to breath in this game, right?"

Galen thought he saw and heard Asuna laughing with him, but he wasnt completely sure. His heart was still racing, and his adrenaline still flowing from rushing down all those stairs. Galen eventually stopped laughing for a second, and began to take in everything around him. He noticed that the rest of the gang hadn't come down the stairs, or taken the elevator either. Where did they all go? he wondered. Don't tell me they all jumped out like Nick? Galen began shaking his head at the thought. I know its just a game, but Im not going to just jump out a window when I have a perfectly good door to run out of.

Galen began thinking about all the crazy times he had with the gang so far, especially tonight. He then began to think about how much he enjoyed their company...especially Asuna's. Asuna and Galen had only been partners for a short amount of time, but it seemed that they had already been through so much together. They had fought many battles, eaten many meals, and even had some good times like tonight's Christmas party. He knew that they had met in a game, but he still considered her a close friend. And she certainly wasn't bad to look at. Galen thought she looked stunning in her white dress, with her red bow, cat ears, and beautiful, long red hair. He wanted to tell her how he felt, but he wasn't sure if she felt the same way. Besides, he thought. Girls take a longer time to fully trust guys than vice versa. I value our friendship, and I don't want to ruin it by being Cassanova. But...at the same time I need to let her know something. I don't want to be stuck in the friend zone my whole life, no matter how short that life might be because of this game. So...I need to let her know that I'm interested, but not wanting to rush things in any way. Got to leave the ball in her court.

Galen was lost in thought for a minute. He didn't know what to say, and wanted to make sure he placed his words and actions correctly. He wanted to earn Asuna's trust, and certainly didn't want to ruin their friendship and partnership. After a short while, he gathered his words and courage before speaking.

"Hey Asuna" smiled Galen. " We have been traveling together for a little while now, and its been great spending time with you and the rest of the group. I've enjoyed every minute getting to know everyone better, especially you." Galen started to look more seriously now, as he pulled himself together. " This world...this "game" has really been a living Hell, for all of us. Every second we spend here, in this place...is another second we lose in the real world. We all have families, and friends that we couldn't live without. Many of them are waiting for us...each of us, to wake up and return to them. Sadly, it might be some time before that happens. But that's why we have to continue pushing forward. I honestly didn't think I would be able to be happy in a place like this...until I met you...until I met our group. Every second we spend together makes every second I'm apart from the real world, worth it. I know we should probably be defeating the next floor boss soon, but I'm glad we all took a break and got a chance to really spend some time together...off the battlefield." Galen then smiled before saying, "Thank you Asuna, for the gifts and a wonderful night." He then reached for her hand with his, and held it tightly. "And thank you for giving me one more reason to escape this world. I couldn't have gotten this far without you. You've been a great partner and an even better friend." Galen then pulled her hand up to his lips and kissed it, like a medieval prince. He could tell she was blushing, but he figured he had to try something. It's Christmas time. If I'm afraid to do this now, especially when the rest of the group isn't here than I might as well quit the front lines now, and start knitting myself a sweater with a giant "C" for coward.

If this were the movies, or some 50 Shades of Grey novel, I might leave it like that and walk away into the distant snow trying to look like a badass. But this is "real life", or at least as real as it gets for the two of us in a digital world. I don't want to look like an ass, so I will wait to see what she says before I take my leave.

It was interesting realizing how fast everybody cleared out of the room after the pungent smell was released into the environment. At least it was a funny way to end the Christmas party. Asuna was reminded that even in Aincrad, it was still possible to pull pranks and laugh about it.

Asuna laughed at what Galen said, laughing at the situation and the idea of nearly running for her life to get out of that party room. In real life she never did anything that involved playing pranks on other people or even getting together for a get together. It was nice to be around people that were not only focused on just clearing the floors. Everybody seemed to be interested in getting to know one another and becoming friends outside of the battlefield. She was now wondering how the others escaped. None of them ran down the stairs along with Galen and her. Were they all really that reckless to jump out of the window? At least nobody's health could be lowered in a safe zone.

She began reminiscing back at all the time she spent stuck in Aincrad. Even though she first found SAO to be a prison, she eventually learned to adapt, survive and continue fighting onwards. She accepted the reality that there would be no outside help that would intervene and suddenly free everybody from this game. It was up to people to take it upon themselves go clear this game and win their own freedom. Asuna decided that it would be too irresponsible of her to let other people do all of the hard work while she sit back and weep all day. Eventually she dedicated herself to becoming brave enough to join the front line effort. Now at the front line she was able to befriend some of the other players and work together with them. They all had their own secrets and pasts back in the real world, but they all were willing to risk their lives in hope of a better future. SAO was stealing away their time from the real world, the hard part was trying to accept the harsh reality and not succumbing to negative emotions.

At the moment things were silent between Asuna and Galen. Usually he was talkative around her, which made him an easy person to talk to. Galen was the only person she ever discussed her past and real life with. In SAO many people did not want to talk about their real lives because of the painful memories and yearning it might bring about. However she found it relieving to hear somebody else's past since a person's past makes them who they are. Even though she did not have an interesting or exciting life, it was still nice to remember what she was fighting for. She and the others were fighting to go back to their families, friends and loved ones.

"Hey Asuna." Galen addressed her.

She turned her head towards his direction. When he mentioned about how he felt like every second in this world is a second stolen from the real world, she understood exactly what he meant. When he said "I honestly didn't think I would be able to be happy in a place like this...until I met you" Asuna's eyes widened in surprise. Even though the two of them did not know each other too long, it was nice knowing that she was able to make somebody not feel dreadful in this place. Asuna was even more surprised when he took her hand and kissed it like a gentleman would. Her cheeks were blushing, no male ever bothered to do such a gesture to her. It was a few seconds before she responded back to him.

"Thank you for everything so far. You've been a great friend and always nice to me. In this world we are all struggling, nobody deserves to struggle alone. I am grateful that I have a partner like you to watch my back."

Asuna pulled her hand back and smiled kindly.

Yes! thought Galen. +2 for me! I didn't royally screw this thing up. Galen was smiling from ear to ear, but he eventually tried to tone it down just a bit. Don't want to look like a complete doofus now, do I? He felt like jumping and doing those weird kick o' the heels trick people somehow managed to pull off in the movies. Yeah, that might make me look even worse. Best if I just stay calm, and take it for what it is...a victory for now.

Galen honestly wasn't sure what to say or do next, however. He really didn't think his charm would work, and that Asuna might have just slapped him across the face, or just looked at him awkwardly. Galen felt like that nerdy kid who just asked the popular girl to the prom, expecting a no, but somehow getting a yes! Damn, Hitch never told me how to react to this one. I mean...Will Smith never made a sequel, and the original was so old...he never covered how to court someone online. *sigh* I want to ask her if she'd like to share her cupcakes with me, but perhaps...perhaps I better save that for another time. Maybe my birthday?? It's only a couple months away. Hopefully the food doesn't expire by then. I guess I should just take my victory lap, and go to bed. Don't want to push my luck. Besides, Wolf could call us at anytime to start another adventure, or floor boss hunt. Don't want to keep Asuna up to late, or myself either.

Galen once again realized he was thinking too much, and was probably worrying Asuna.

"Thanks Asuna" smiled Galen. "I will always have your back, no worries about that. Thanks again for the presents. You should definitely help me eat these cupcakes sometime. I know women like to watch their figure...but at least in this world, you can eat as much as you want and you won't gain a pound." Galen laughed. "Tonight was a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to seeing you later. And I don't want to push my luck, especially when we are both pretty tired. So...this is goodnight, for now Asuna"

Overall it was a very good day. Asuna felt like she was back in the real world enjoying time with friends instead of in a death game. The Christmas party ensured that nobody would be alone for the night and brought along good memories. It was still nice to be able to celebrate holidays from the real world in the virtual world. She looked at Galen and saw him smiling widely. Now that the party was over, she would most likely head back to her inn room right away and get some rest. Tomorrow would most likely be dedicated back to training or clearing the current floor. It would be nice to one day take a long break but now was not the time.

"Thank you for your present as well, I really appreciate the effort you took to find it." Asuna smirked amused when Galen mentioned the cupcakes and how women preferred to watch their weight. "I can always make more cupcakes in the future so you should eat the ones you have before their life expires. Good night Galen, I'll see you soon."

After Asuna and Galen said their goodbyes, Galen began thinking about the night's adventure. Man...sometimes I feel like the social world can be more of a minefield than the combat zone. Galen was walking the cold streets of Balandor, making his way back to his room in the inn. He waited, and looked around to make sure no one was watching. Then, for God knows why, Galen attempted to kick his heels in the air like the movies. Surprisingly, it almost worked...almost. The ice and snow on his shoes caused his feet to slip against each other, making him jerk midair, falling flat on his face in the snow. Ouch, well at least that's what my pride is screaming. Some kid on the opposite side of the street started to laugh. Galen looked over to see it was an NPC. He was about to yell out, "At least I'm actually alive!", but realized that the NPC could care less. Wait...that's right. I AM still alive. Galen began thinking about all the people he left behind in the real world. His mother and father, his brother and sister, his friends. Galen actually thought he shed a tear, but then realized it was snowing pretty bad.

Galen ran to the inn as fast as he could, to avoid messing up his new attire. After he arrived inside, he took the stairs(as always) and eventually arrived at his room. Room number 212. He stepped inside, changing into a t-shirt and some boxer shorts. *sigh* It's been a long day. But day's like this make me realize how important it is to escape this hell. I used to think that out there...on the battlefield...that's where my heart is, that's where I can thrive and truly feel alive. But I was wrong. I feel more human here, with my friends...with Asuna...than I do anywhere else. It's days like tonight that help remind me that I'm still human. That even in a world where I can't bleed, I still have a heart. I know that it's going to be a long road ahead. We are only on Floor 7 of 100. But I know, that as long as I'm with Asuna, with the rest of the group...we can succeed. We can truly pave the way for everyone to finally log out and see their families and friends again. After tonight, if there is one thing that I've learned...it's that I want to escape. I may have had doubts before...but now...I have to...for myself...but even more for Asuna. I want to see her in the real world. I want to know what she's like, beyond the battlefield. I want to be able to spend time with her without wondering if someone on the other side might trip and unplug our nerve gears, killing us at any moment. Asuna...I promise, on this necklace you gave me...I will get us out of here. I will see you on the other side.

Welcome everyone to Floor 6. Deep within the combat area lies a giant mansion filled with mysteries. Trap doors of all kinds lay in wait in a place where monsters dwell around any corner. The front door locks behind you and there are very few ways to get out. Separated, could the group make it out alive? Will they make it to see another sunrise? Next time, don't follow Wolf and Amon into sketchy places.

When Amon heard about a quest in a haunted mansion he was pretty skeptical, especially since he thought that spectral monsters weren't going to appear until later in the game. However, Amon and Wolf decided to check it out anyway. When the got there they were amazed at the sheer of it. "How did we miss this earlier?" Amon said looking at the decrepit looking house. When he and Wolf went up to investigate he saw a little girl crying on the front porch swing. She had a quest marker and they decided to message everybody about the quest. The message read: "Hey guys, Wolf and I found a very interesting quest located at a cool haunted house. Coordinates down below." Amon started to talk to the quest giver and it read:

My mom hasn't come out for a long time and I'm starting to get worried about her. She went into the mansion earlier today and it looks like a snow storm is about to hit when it gets dark. Please help me!

Quest Rewards
1500 exp
12,000 col
Helmet of the night / Dead man's Scythe

The quest said that it had to have groups of two and the quest also had amazing sounding items that actually weren't very amazing after all. You were also not allowed to enter the haunted house without taking up the quest. "Hey, sounds pretty cool huh Wolf." Amon said nudging Wolf in the rib cage. I'll race you to finish the quest first. Noiki and I vs you and Yuuki, then we gotta figure Black, Asuna with Galen, Nick and Vyse, I guess Black has to go alone." Amon said laughing with Wolf.

Black walked in the front of the building. Feeling slightly hurt he had to walk alone he moved through the corridors. On the plus side being alone meant that he could use his stealth to maximum ability, his stealth getting up to the 90’s in some of the darker rooms.

Even with his optimistic thoughts he got nervous. He was lost, alone, and as much as he hated to admit it, scared. He had both his daggers out as he walked through the halls occasionally passing doors. He tried to keep track of where he was but his map was helping little and there were few landmarks around to keep your bearings. As he walked down the hall he saw one of the doors was propped open, getting slightly hungry he looked for a defensible position so the he could take out some of his food and silent his stomach. As he approached the door he could hear some scratching and hissing, as he opened the door slightly he could see a jet black scorpion fighting a bright red snake. They seemed to be fighting over a body. Without thinking Black rushed in and attacked the scorpion first using his stealth skill and landing a critical hit. He took it out in one hit, they seemed to be relatively weak. After revealing himself the snake immediately aimed for his throat as it lunged. Barely avoiding the snake he rolled right, hitting the wall and slightly stunning him. He then realized that the room was very small. When the snake attacked again he used the skill <<Red Water>> which was very fast combination of three strikes at the target. Managing to take them both out he looked around.

The room was sparten with a small bed and dresser in the corner. In the other corner was a rocking chair, with the remains of a woman holding a baby. He knew that there was no deterioration in this game so they must have been put there but it was still creepy. The only light that he could see in the room was two candles that were burning in lamps of the bed posts. All in all a very creepy room. As he moved over to the body he looked for any indication if it was a player or another AI opponent. Seeing that there was no indicator and no movement he got up and kicked the body as hard as he could. A purple indicator saying immortal object popped and he knew that he had just been played. Feeling like a fool he sat down on the bed and took out a sandwich, careful to pick the one that was the oldest in the inventory. Outside he could hear a slight whisper of wind and he wondered how why on earth he had agreed to this quest. Cursing his stupidity for not the first time that day he ate hoping that he might run into someone else from the team, who knew. Feeling like he needed some help he sent a message to NightChill that he could use a little help with a quest that he had started. He was not optimistic that she would show up but if he didn’t meet anyone soon he just might have to rely on himself.

When Wolf laughed, he assumed his stance where he placed his hands on his hips and laughs likes a mad man. "This could be very interesting."

Once the rest of the group arrived, they entered and split up, Wolf interlocking his fingers with Yuuki and making a break for it up some random stairs on the left, bringing them to the second of three or four floors not including the attic and basement. The house was creepy and the floor boards made scary sounds with each step. The sun was setting so at least they had a little light, even if only for a short time. Snow was gently falling but a storm was about to hit thanks to the quest's trigger.

Wolf placed his hand on the hilt of his weapon. His two handed sword is far to heavy to wield single handedly but it reassured his to do so anyways. Walking down the hall, they came upon a fork, one leading left, and the other with stairs going up, to the right.

"Which way do you wanna go?"

Never trust wolf and amon with a quest, ever again!
That was the only thought that crossed nick's mind as he was roaming the mansion with Vyse.
"So how did we get involved in this insanity?" Nick asked aloud as he sighed.
Nick already had his one handed sword out, the black blade was almost invisible in the darkness.

"It was broad daylight before we entered, the quest must have triggered the darkness."

The wind was blowing outside, it sounded like it was raining as well, adding into the tension
that was already building.
Damn i was never good with horror theme's. But that never stopped him.
Even in the real world he was always going into haunted mansions at the amusement parks when he was little.
But that was almost 10 years ago, nick smiled and looked around.

Vyse was behind him watching the environment while nick was scouting each room for the target.
"Of course it's never that easy." Nick sighed after he'd seen the interior of the room as it was empty as the rest.

They arrived at an intersection, left or right.

"So where do we go from here?" nick asked.

Haunted houses never really frightened Noiki. She'd played way too many horror games as a kid, and was virtually unfazed by horror any longer. Blood and gits she could handle, but swiss cheese? Of course not.

As soon as they entered the house, Noiki brought put her two-handed sword for somewhat of a light. It glowed eerily with a shine like that of the moon, illuminating maybe a radius of five feet around her. She looked around, at the ceiling, at the walls, at the floor. The ceiling was uncomfortably low for Noiki, and even though she was short, she almost felt the need to duck. The walls were made of a moist grey stone, with moss patches shpwing up in aome places. The floor was a dark wood that had obviously once been a lot lighter, but moisture and mold had rotted a lot of it away. It creaked under her weight, with every step, which sort of scared her because she was pretty thin. Noiki felt that it would break through and she'd come crashing down below it.

The group had split up, and the second any splitting up was mentioned, she clasped Amon's hand so he couldn't be anyone else's partner. They'd made an agreement, and she intended to keep it. Amon was her best friend in SAO so far. She really didn't have much else of a choice anyhow.

The first thing she noticed in particular were the roots jutting out of the wall in random places. They almost seemed to grab at her. She was glad she'd put her hair into a braid.. she would've gotten snagged.

The corridor they'd been walking down eventually split into a choice of three doors. They all looked the same; molded, big, eerie. It was one of those classic split points. You had two doors that would lead to your unconditional doom, and another that lead to your almost certain doom. It was something you had to think about before acting upon.

Just to test them, Noiki slowly creaked open all of the doors. One of them just had more brick wall behind it. The other two led to long hallways that seemed to get lost in a fog after ten feet. Noiki sighed; they both seemed to be the same. Maybe both of them only held almost certain doom?

"Which one should we pick?" she asked, looking up to Amon. Her bright orange eyes shone in the dark.
