First of all I think this is a great idea. However, I believe selecting a title that is entirely represented on CR would be better for both discussion and getting people to check out the anime (without leaving CR to finish watching the series!) As for Code Geass, I have the DVDs and have seen both the subbed and dubbed versions and I like the subbed acting better. The Clamp designs, art and animation are top shelf! This is a hard series to discuss without treading into spoilers.

What this dude said. ^

No, seriously, in this series, the dubbed version cut out some of the more violent or risque scenes which might have proved inappropriate for television in the United States.

Also, seriously, are you EVER going to get R2, CR? I watched both seasons initially in a pirated subbed form, which I have since deleted and must admit I will never download again. (My pirating days were days of my youth, and never again shall I tread those waters, me matey.) That said, I wish I could watch both seasons without having to buy the DVDs. Isn't that what Crunchyroll is for?

Believe me, I'm with you guys on wanting R2 on Crunchyroll as well! Unfortunately, licensing isn't always that simple, and sometimes we can only get a certain season of a series. :[

That being said, we're always looking for feedback, so if the chance ever comes up to license R2, knowing that fans want to see it on Crunchyroll can only help our case.

This was one of the first anime DVDs I bought a few years ago now, and I remember buying them one by one. It's probably possible now to assemble the set for a lot less than I paid. One of these days, I'll have to get them out and rewatch this again (fourth time, I think)! I'd have to agree with those who've already mentioned it though-- it's a set-up for frustration and disappointment that CR doesn't have the second season available. It'll likely never happen, but I do wish the picture dramas from the second season would be legally available in the U.S. I remember watching them on "some other site," and thought they really did add to the story, making for a more complete experience. They should have included them with the R2 DVDs, like they did with the first season's picture dramas.

Thanks for the feedback, and we'll definitely take that into consideration when we select our next title. As for spoilers, Code Geass has been out long enough that I dont think it's something that needs to be avoided. If people are want to post something particularly spoiler-y, please just use the "spoiler" button at the top of the text box when making a post.

This is a very good idea. Many of my friends do not know of Code Geass, and neither did I until I saw a clip of the 2nd season on Toonami a couple of years-ago. For some reason, the show has slipped under the general anime public's radar, unless they are an avid anime fan or youtuber. However, I myself did not really get hooked into the show until I went on youtube and saw Lelouch's truly evil smile at the very end of episode 1. Would not have called Lelouch to be such a brilliant minded, anti-hero.

Both the subbed and the dubbed versions were outstanding, which should attract an even greater audience since people can choose the one they would prefer to watch. But to really get people to watch the show here on Crunchyroll, then CR has got to get the 2nd season both subbed and dubbed.

This show has got to be one of the best anime of all-time, or at least of the decade, and more people should be aware of its greatness.

This anime is Epic with a capital E.

What else can you call a story about one person who singlehandedly brings the world to it's knees?

EDIT: Now I'm going to go watch it for like the fifteenth time.

This is actually false. The version aired on TV in Japan was censored, like most anime (thank you, DVD commentary). This same version was also used on American TV, I assume. However, the video on the DVDs, Youtube, and I assume Crunchyroll is uncensored, thus preserving all the 0.0001 second nipple-flashes that were part of Goro Taniguchi's original creative vision.

Now this, this is anime. I can still remember the first time I watched the first episode. And how that episode ended... forget about it!

Rewatching the first two DVDs on a whim is what kicked off my most recent anime addiction only a couple of months ago. Everything from writing, to acting, to art is top notch. I love it. Nuff said.
