Ahhahhahah of course not!
Anyone you ask here would agree because we all enjoy video games.

If you are talking about the negative consequences related to gaming, such as the claims that our beloved games may teach violence, sexuality, etc then here is my take: One must be a responsibile person before one touches the controler. You can compare video games to movies and music. There are differing ranges of suggested maturity levels. "Explicit Language" on music and G to R (maybe even pornos?) ratings in movies... Video games are not an exception. People need to be able to tell the difference between what is real/acceptible in our society and what is not. Take for instance the korean kid who killed his younger sister becuase she disturbed his gaming session, or even that one teen who killed his parents because he thought that the "Matrix" was real. Those are signs of mental immaturity.
If one can tell the difference when something is merely 'entertainment' and not to be taken seriously, then that person is mature enough to play any kind of game/watch any movie/listen to music. The problem is that the younger people are too easily infuenced, that is why other people try to take the easy route and blame 'video games' as the source of today's violence.
The thing is, it mostly comes down to the parents, it is their responsibility to monitor what their children are exposed to. Parents are the most important factor in a childs life, so it would make sense to have them carry the responsibility, wouldn't it? Instad of blaming video games, most of which are targeted at mature audiences anyway.....

He was actually saying the opposite...read his statement, it's really dumb. He says that all people should be required to play video games.

Oops, the double negatives caught me, hahahah. Man, and all that time spent trying to come up with a convicing argument....oh well...

Yeah, it's a pretty foolish idea, It's pretty much forcing the world into thinking the same way.
People should just do what they want to do and follow their own interests. Doing otherwise and forcing something on them is just......illogical. Not to mention pointless. :\

I think it should be law for everyone to take at least one day out of an entire year to understand the politics of their country, and to vote, as much as it is law to go to school.

Uh... no. If you make a law for one hobby, you'll have to make a law for every other hobby that's ever existed for one thing... and there's a ton of other factors that just make this an unrealistic proposal :/ I mean, if it's against the law to not play video games, then it would open up doorways for other laws like making it against the law to not go hunting, or not play sports, etc.

thats just be the worst idea ever i they do that youll see a bunch of kids just suddenly go into super fat ugly looking geeks with glasses and then probably lots more kids would just waste there life on gaming more since they have to do it daily anyways. imagine just everyone playing videogames, that would be so stupid espcially since not everyone is good at gaming and the whole thing would be so pointless.
and where i live it is kinda more of the opposite, it is the law that every elementry school has to have at least half an hour of physical activity during school because kids are getting all lazy and fat.
it would make mroe sense if they just make one day just for gaming and have a bunch of game tournaments and parades with dress up characters and all that

Hahaha I remember that...that was only Ragnarok, though, I think, because it was like an epidemic and people going psycho and that was all they were doing haha, and it wasn't really serious, you could still get around the block. I think it's gone now
